I thought the forums were only for people who have hate-ons for the game.
Yes, we do, there is regular reporting that we send to the team and I do source plenty of it from here. Similar to the support team, I am not able to post to every thread acknowledging them personally, but I do read them all, and ensure that the communityâs voice is heard. This doesnât always mean a fix is easy, or that we can implement everything asked for (much of it conflicting), but it does drive changes that the team makes.

Forums have the âleast participationâ because they are all guaranteed players who at least own a copy of the game. Any Joe Schmo can post on Twitter. The forums have focused disccusion and is a direct conduit to the players. Someone in their Ivory Tower does not realize that players are not checking Twitter and sending Tweets. To even group a Game Forum in with âSocial Mediaâ is naive at best. Thank you for reinforcing just how disconnected Blizzard truly is with the playerbase.

You know I donât work for, or represent Blizzard, right? You are not totally new here so I assume you know that.
And yes, Forums are an older form of social media. We can go back farther to text chat rooms if someone wanted, but yeah. I like them because they are not limited to short âtweetsâ, donât have an algorithm that prioritizes images/videos, and donât shove things in your face based on whatever the company thinks you want. People post, you read and reply if you wish at your own pace. Better format for discussions. Easy to come back to a thread later and pick up where you left off.
You and I can both love the forum format, but that does not make the player base conform to our wishes. They use what they want, and right now forums are just not really cool.
They have the stats. They know just how few people actually regularly read, much less post, on the forums. They have those same stats for all the other forms of player engagement. Decisions and resource allocation are going to be based on that.
I am quite happy we now have Lyricana on General jumping into threads. We have not had that since Nevalistis left in 2020.

Thatâs why I never believe on all of them. I play the game myself without listening to their whines which is mostly learn2play imo.

We are all going to find out when Season 4 launches and the most important updates arrive for this game.
Feedback has been consistent on itemisation and crafting since day zero. Trading is probably the one area the community is divided.

Thatâs why it proves my point that most of them are Tourists with shallow knowledge of the game.
Real players are in the game not on those worthless social media made by a Tourist.
Why would you believe on Tourists who dont play? They dont know what they are talking about.
Remember, seeing them say Traps are bad? Or Seneschal Minion is weak? Traps are bad for ignorant noob players who doesnt know that it rewards 5x Chests⌠5x better than the old NM dungeon. Seneschal champion is weak becoz their pet is level 1⌠ROFL. Look at youtube now on some players with Pet spanking Duriel and Uber Lilith.
Never listen to tourists. They know nothing of the game.

It proves absolutely nothing.
Forums provide stability. Streamers come and go. Itâs not like you sign them like free agents. If you did, no one would watch them. Catch 22. Forums are about as minimalistic an approach to community building as there is. Thatâs what makes them solid, foundational building blocks. Spruce things up a bit. Add some minor bells and whistles. Pretend itâs 2004 and you work at the Vault Network. When ppl gave up and let social media take over itâs gone downhill. Just look at this place. Itâs more like a PvP arena than a forum.
Itâs obvious why Blizzard NEVER reads the forum. Itâs mostly just pure rage.

Then im assuming NO information and feedback from the general discussions is used in your meetings for future changes to the game or balance decisions.

I can tell you now that you are wrong. However, just because the feedback is relayed to the Dev team, does not mean they:
- consider it good for their concept of the game
- consider it something they can implement short term
- want to implement it the way you suggest. They might want to tweak it
- Have a timeline you might want for when changes will happen
Having the info does not mean the Devs have to agree with it and want to implement it. A whole lot of things we do discuss here (and other feedback locations) have made it into the game, or will in future patches.
They are not going to give you an itemized list.
