The errant mouse-click that prompted me to quit D4

I worked so hard to get four resplendent sparks. Completed the season journey twice, and finally my first tormented boss… Uber Lilith too after what felt like 100 attempts, going back to build up my Andariel’s Puncture rogue a bit stronger in the Pit. Was so excited to finally craft a Harlequin Crest… and I clicked on Andariel’s Visage instead! I already have an Andariel’s Visage that dropped naturally.

There’s no way back… no way to transmute to something—anything else…. I can’t even trade someone for a piece of equal value. I can only salvage for a massive loss of 75% of the material value that cost hours upon hours of play.

I think even just making the salvage value 3 sparks instead of 1 would be reasonable. I could accept having to get just one more (and another 50M coin) to fix my mistake. Given all the other restrictions, I really fail to see how that would upset the game’s balance.

As it is, I won’t be buying the Vessel of Hatred expansion after all. I’m just not willing to put in the grind anymore, especially when it’s so easy to irrevocably erase the value of the effort you’ve put in.

Probably better this way. D4 was fun to the point that I’ve definitely exhibited clinical addiction behaviors with it. That was the only way to spend the “hours upon hours” for the chance to make my irreversible one-mouse-click mistake. I suppose I should really thank Blizzard devs for putting me off. But I’m really just super disappointed.
