The Devs said it was ok to stop

Lol, never in my life have i heard a game developer say it’s ok to stop playing our game. i really hope they have shareholders who see this and think it’s a breach in the shareholder contract. lol but THANKS Devs, glad i got your permission to stop. oh i just uninstalled the game and battle.net launcher as well. if you don’t think i should keep playing the game, why even have it taking up space on my SSD?

If people cared of developing a good product and not only how much it’s gonna sell, the world would be a better place

You can buy few Bliz shares and attend the next shareholder meeting and share this with the rest of shareholders and see how people react.

To be fair, if the majority of shareholders were playing diablo, the development of this game would have been top notch

Imo, he was trying to do some damage control and at the same time, his passion as a person was noticeable.

Give him more respect. He starts taking ownership of the situation by asking the camera to focus on him. That takes balls when he knows what sort of pov the audience has.

He’s not wrong: It is ok to stop playing this game. You’re just framing it in a way that’s not his intention, and that is unfair.

SquareEnix referring to both Final Fantasy 11 and 14 have always had the stance of take breaks from the game when you feel it is appropriate. They don’t want anyone harming their health to enjoy their products.

Every dev should have that sort of mentality towards their players and their products. This is a piece of entertainment and should be enjoyed responsibly.

The director of FF14 has said this before.

FFXIV director said the same thing and that game is a subcription MMORPG.

It is simply a realization it is impossible to develop content fast enough to satisfy people playing over 20-30h per week, every week.

Even a good endgame loop is boring for the majority who will simply seek another game and come back later if something interesting is added.

Really it’s ok to play something else. There a tons of great games out there to try out.

I guess I missed this somewhere. Reddit? Twitter? During the dev chat?

Was an old interview.

Ah okay well then meh whatever.

They have your money. Shareholders only care about that.

Was during dev chat on Thursday.

During the dev chat.

To be fair the FF14 developer said that, in part, because there has been a history of people dying because they wouldnt take breaks from FF MMOs

Oh, they said it again? Nice reminder.

paraphrased: we know that our players will not be playing this game all the time, and it is ok to leave for a while and come back, thats what expansions are for, so players can finish and take a break not play our game, but come back for expansions if they want - yoshi P when talking about final fantasy XIV.
