I’m generally curious what failsafe’s for abusing / exploiting the PvP Systems are going to be in place. Because if these “shards” are at all valuable and there’s only roughly ~12 people on a shard at any given point. What is stopping people from just grouping up and mutually “NOT” pvping and just abusing the system for loot?
“Hey guys, PvP is up, lets go grab our shards and purify them.”
…I don’t see this going how blizzard thinks its going to go.
Most likely it will be a free for all zone for one, no grouping allowed. Disabling zone chat would help too.
Removing player names would help too.
thinks Booting you from the zone after reaching a set amount of pvp shards daily would also help limiting the farming and camping and griefing possible.
I don’t see how they would make this singular aspect of the game Solo when Diablo Devs have been anti-solo everything for 2 decades. And even if for some bizarre reason this one section is Solo it’s still easy to abuse - just group up first and mass move to the PvP area together so you are already in the same shard/zone together. Then enter and if it breaks you up solo it doesn’t matter your still in as a team.
12 people group up and then just PvE? Doesn’t seem like its too far off just PvE’ing anyway elsewhere?
It’s probably harder to control the players in the instance than it is to just go to the non-PvP zones and fight monsters there. I doubt the PvP zone would have helltides so players would probably go do that instead or nightmare dungeons or the tree.
Depends on the value of the shards. I imagine they will have to be worth something extremely nice for people to risk their characters for it. And if that is at all a % multiplier on the PvE content it will be abused.
Sigh… let the PVP do whatever they want. It’s a PVP zone… let them have their fun. As long as they abuse the system, its their fault. Not ours to feel sorry about.
PVP is there to PVP. If group is a problem. The devs will do something ASAP and axe it…
All they have to do is group up and sit on the tun-in points.
Kill anyone that trys to turn in, take their shards, split between the group, turn in themselves.
Itll all just be the clan with the most #'s controls the altar 24/7.
Corpse camping won’t be a thing as you don’t leave a corpse when dying anymore. You will however drop all your pvp shard currency stuff (but the people who kill you will likely just pick it all up, no reason to return)
shards is mostly cosmetic stuff anyway. There are lots of ways you can farm with less risk of course. But in the end if you run around with the highest pvp reward and your char sheet says “5 PvP kills” you aren’t gonna impress anyone.
There might be exploits, abuses PVP, PVE you name it. It’s up to the Devs to fix that stuff reasonable fast.
In D3 they do fix exploits and they punish the exploiters when necessary too.
The fact you don’t get flagged for pvp when you enter the area is a joke. It’s just another pve area that some casual pve players couldn’t take that pvp players were getting an area of the map and some cosmetics so they had to nerf it.
Honestly at this point just make the entire area and all cosmetics pve only cause pvp players never asked for any exclusive items that would make pve players jealous.
ALL we wanted was a god damn pvp area to PLAY pvp.
Can we please have some pvp that isn’t ruined by some half , please casuals with a nerfed experience, pve/pvp area that will be abused by casuals phasing up with each other and promising not to kill each other.
This pvp area is a joke, super exploitable and pretty much pointless for real pvp players who actually flag themselves. The entire map might be filled up with peopple just collecting shards… so what I just camp the altars or stalk casuals until they go to an altar? This sucks.
Forgive me for being repetitious, but PvP zones will be a mess for a long time, apparently.
This is one of the reasons why I suggest a duel feature to be able to challenge anyone, any level, anywhere (outside of towns) to a duel.
Tournaments can be organized by the players themselves if D4 gets this feature. There is no risk- you get your health and pots refunded after the fight, all players capped to 5 pots.
Yeah but duel mode is just something that’s always there, from level 1.
So we can already inspect other players, and see their level next to the nametag.
Well? How about if you want a quick fight?
Or you and 10 other players are standing around for 15 minutes waiting for Ashava to spawn.
Well? Ask someone for a quick fight, little zone drawn up, you guys have a 1 on 1 fight.
PvP zones don’t offer that unless the random person you find is the only person and near your level (or preference).
A duel mode will also allow players to organize their own tournament structures and offer prizes and promote PvP in general. You want duel mode.
I don’t think choosing not to go hostile in the PvP zones and focusing on PvE is an exploit.
The zones aren’t designed to be purely about PvP or they wouldn’t be filled with monsters and events and a mini-boss spawn.
I do think it would make sense to add instanced PvP modes that were just about PvP (like battlegrounds and arenas), but this is all there is going to be for now.
