The conjuration legendary node change is a nerf

Cooldown from slotting all three on the bar, effectively nerfed. Subsequent effects range from slightly less cooldown for all skills to slower stacking on conjuration mastery.

yeah it’s terrible! I thought I had read it was BUFFED to 10% cdr per ability on the bar and was super excited, until I realized it’s now a FLAT 10%, like… at least make it 15% like if I had all 3 abilities on, if not actually 20%.

Like they already took 35% CDR away, all my cooldowns are 2 seconds longer than they used to, Ice Blades is the only way to shave 0.5-1 seconds off my cooldowns after the huge nerf in beta, and now also lighting spear take even longer to recharge… they keep adjusting things in such annoying ways… so frustrating.

Some of the new uniques, like the dot explosion ring, come with affixes that dont normally roll on that gear type; the aforementioned ring gives a cooldown affix. Equipping the ring brings the cooldown for blades/spear around to what they were last patch, assuming all else the same (if you get a good roll on cooldown, its actually a bit better than last patch).

That said, the concept of “nerf class to account for gear” is frustrating, because instead of improving an existing build with new gear, the player is left picking up the pieces and trying to get back what was lost. While it can sometimes be done, its not a fun experience.

Disclaimer: yes, powercreep bad, sometimes nerf needed. However, some of the adjustments to sorc functionality seem a bit asinine this patch.

Im more interested in how the damage bonus even works. 3% of all bonus damage from elements? It doesn’t even give us a total to see what we have. It just says some low number. I don’t know where its derieved.

Its sum of your “dmg with” fire, cold, and shock, x .03. That category includes all non physical dmg in paragon as well as specific fire cold shock bonuses in paragon and gear.

My setup (its a mess, went broke messing with paragon) currently:

157% fire and shock (from non phys) and 192% cold (bit extra from icefall). No bonuses on gear.

Tooltip says 15% x, which checks out:
((1.57 x 2) + 1.92) x .03 = .1518.

This is multiplied to base conjuration bonus of 128%: (1+1.28)(1+ .15)-1 = 162.8%.
