In all prior Diablo games, The Butcher was a voluntary aspect of the game. You choose when you were going to fight him.
In D4, where you have limited lives in Nightmares, and since The Butcher uses an EXPLOIT to kill certain classes (any mob gets too close to the player and we can’t target a mob) it is just wrong to have him spawn in every other dungeon.
If it is okay to have an unwinnable battle happen every few dungeons, Why not have a (your level +20) Lilith do spawns, too, and share the wealth of the Kobiashi Maru with everyone.

I mean as dude said you can just run away and secondly every class can easily handle the butcher.

He needs to spawn more.
FRESH MEAT
If you have any kind of worthy build hes a non-issue, other than that
Skill issue.

He is a benchmark. Before you can beat him reliably, you can just run until he despawns (he is on a 2-3 screen leash).
My necro doesn’t have an easy time running away, I can tell you that.

I’m pretty sure most people playing this game will get sick and tired of seeing this guy pop up so much.

Are people really still struggling with him? Just run in a tight circle around him and he literally can’t do anything. His AI is too slow to react and he just attacks where you were a second ago.
My fresh rogue at lvl 48 got him in my first NM dungeon and he didn’t hit me once, kill was kinda slow but it’s free loot so who am I to turn it down?
He can be kinda scary if he shows up in a pack of elites, but he should never pose a threat if he’s alone if you just stay on his butt the whole time.

Just wanted to add, you can run into him in normal dungeons as well. He spawned in to my normal dungeon one night and completely handed my you know what to me. He was something like 10 levels higher than me. I wish I had taken screenshots but embarrassingly I didn’t know which button to press and I was frankly too busy trying to kill him and not die.

I love it when I run into him on my bone spear necro. Pretty much face tank him and get solid drops.

The butcher appeared first time for me last night in a level 56 dungeon. Was in a group of 3.
He was level 110 and absolutely destroyed us lol
Run away?? Good luck, hes 4x faster than me (im a druid haha).
So it was exciting and lame at the same time. I agree he shouldnt spawn in NM dungeons on T4 when you are limited to 4 revives. Bit dumb.

having a voice chat full of people yelling about getting popped by the butcher is some of the most fun ive had in this game tbh

I tried to run away on my sorc once and then he yanked me back so I used my fire shield and ran, then just charged into me and stunlocked me and killed me. Sad times!

- Run away if you can’t handle him
- I’m pretty sure every class has some sort of AoE or Multi-target mechanic or ability
- He is most certainly not “unwinnable”, he’s definitely strong early-game but can be taken on once you get some gear either solo or with friends (a friend).
My partner and I effecionately call him my “boyfriend” cause whenever he shows up we duke it out like estranged lovers. Our talks are nice, I have to send him away after awhile but he leaves behind the nicest of presents.
Kixxarth is much the same way during Helltides.

Amazing all these NON-SORCERER guys think the butcher is an easy kill. Guys, before mouthing off he’s easy, build a sorcerer.
When he chains you, you can’t run away. I can TP away - once. He grapples me back. He runs faster than my 45% run boost. With 4 evades, and a tp I can ONCE IN A WHILE escape.
The problem is he comes in so close I can’t target him. He is inside my targetable radius. This is a KNOWN ISSUE with Sorcerers (and apparently other classes). If a mob is too close, your attack flies over or around the target. The Butcher and other bosses use this exploit to kill you.
ps: I have killed him handily in NM45 … when there is a tank to keep him away from me so I can target him. In a solo 40 – he just sucks my life down and I can pull down his barriers a half dozen times, but never far enough to kill him. He always runs back, then does his “get inside the target bubble” thing. And then its over.

Butcher isn’t hard if you have a halfway decent build. I’ve ran into him 10+ times and only lost once when he had the backstabbers modifier.
