I have played and meet the Butcher in a Shrine…killed him and got regular drop lot, what is so exciting about this, what am I missing?

If you mean the loot, he’s supposed to always drop the Butcher’s Cleaver now, but that’s the only notable thing.
If you mean the fight itself-
I’ve only found him once so far this expansion but my gut tells me he’s nerfed. Since nightmare dungeons are the main place he’s found and those scale to your difficulty and not their difficulty anymore, I’d guess he’s only a bit harder than other bosses so he isn’t an instant death for anyone that’s not OP for the content.
I’ve found him in cellars and such before and he was never very difficult, but that was based on the world tier difficulty and not pit and or NMD, and overworld content was already super easy at that point.
OP is talking about the new buff that just hit. Burning Butcher Influence. Burning Butcher has a chance to spawn from shrines. Normally they are only found in Infernal Hordes.

I’ll only get to try the event later. But given how past events needed to be buffed a few days in, I’m not overly excited.
Ughh. I’d think he’d have a sack like the goblins did in their event, or something anyway. Maybe the cleaver he drops is fiery now?

Well my intention was to compare this Diablo 4 Halloween event VS. WOW Halloween events which is all over the place. Now I know WOW is not Diablo (but it’s still Blizzard) they could have done a little bit more effort for this Diablo 4 Halloween event 2024, just saying.
Pre season 1, pitch at 100, was GOD. 10 min fight sometimes

Goblins loot better, butcher is a joke.
The goblins do drop their bags right now, but…it’s nowhere near what it used to be in previous seasons. Just a couple more goblins than normal. Most in one dungeon I saw was three and that happened like once. On average I come out of a dungeon with one goblin bag now, which then drops two legendaries and a legendary material. Haven’t gotten anything good or special from that and honestly, the meager loot is hardly worth the chase. You get more loot from other sources like helltide or infernal hordes.
Free cosmetics from the shop is probably the highlight of this event.
