The bulk of the game needs to happen around level 65-85 not start at level 100

i really dont want the game to “start” at level 100. i am ready to retire a character by the time i get to 100.

i want to find awesome gear WHILE i am leveling… not once ive already done most things.

i could care less about finding a cool unique if i have already done most of the higher tier stuff.

it could be possible if leveling to 100 was still taking 100 hours instead of 3. now that leveling is faster and easier, people hardly wear good items at lvl 90 so the game ‘cannot’ really get started yet.

edit:
that’s the issue as well

Happening at whatever level not the issue. Ending in 3 days is the issue. There is no game to play. You are done day 3 of season after that its rerolling characters hanging on barely playing trying to find something to do that is not depressing and boring because there is nothing else to play.

I agree completely. I just grinded 4 sparks for my main and now I’m realizing, what’s the point? There’s literally nothing to do.

You need to decide. Before the forums were full of complaints that leveling is too slow. Now it’s too fast. Decide.

Especially gearing should feel more relevant more early. I think maybe 925 ilvl should be default for tier 4, because all ilvl under 925 is just never bis. Ofc it can be better with boosted stats, but I mean… it doesn’t feel good.

Completely agreed. Endgame should start around 70-80, lvl 90-100 should take a significant amount of time, but also not be needed for anything in the game. Move some of the paragon points to earlier lvls instead. And adjust the HP etc. scaling per lvl.

Easy. Lvling is too fast. It has been too fast since S1.

This game is just incomplete at the moment. All these little adjustments and band-aids just temporarily get us by. The helltide adjustments and accompanying changes for this season briefly made the turd a little more shiny but when the shiny wears off, it’s still a turd. The game is lacking core end game content.

People say “2 day max”, but in reality it takes like 20-30 hours for most normal players that don’t do it the most efficient way. Well I guess 2 days, if you play 12 hours straight… I’m still like lvl 89 or something

Yea, by level 100 I had leveled all my glyphs to max. I was done with the battle pass awards. I had done a Pit tier 61. The end game gear grind isn’t worth it to me if I only have 3 months to enjoy my character. That’s if I even manage to find the gear and temper it just right and master work it just right. The gear acquisition grind feels infinite, but there’s no incentive to do it. What am I gaining long term for doing this? Nothing…literally nothing.

Some say the journey is the fun, but the journey is pretty much the same season to season except for the seasonal mechanic, which feels like one 3 month PTR. I kind of want a reward and then keep using the reward to build on something else in end game. Besides cosmetics, in D3 the seasonal reward was the gear set. You got the gear and then used it to build and acquire other things such as a better time in Greater Rift runs or farming Primal Ancient gear, which would simply further enhance the gear you had. I liked this model. You had the gear basically given to you, so you wouldn’t be behind the ball in terms of being able to realize the full potential of a set of abilities.

In D4, you may never realize the potential of your build within a season and that sucks. If it’s based on gear acquisition, you may never actually find that gear or the gear with the necessary affixes on it within 3 months. And even if you do it, you may not be able to actually enjoy it with enough time left in the season.

I remember back when leveling was slow enough that you had to spend some time thinking about how you’d get to the next level bracket to unlock new skills and what you would need to maximize your efficiency during that time. Not just handed to you cause people have no patience anymore. But I guess the 90s are long gone.

It takes 8-10 hours but if you’re super efficient you can do it in 5 hours. The fastest in S4 was 2.5 hours.

No, it doesnt take 20-30 hours unless you’re counting the time you’re not playing or you havnt played since S2.

i dont care about the leveling “speed”

i want the bulk of the “fun” to happen around the mid way point of my characters journey.

if people want to grind to 100 and beyond on the same character great… but most of the good stuff needs to happen BEFORE then

But if it takes 1 hour to go from 65-90 what middle point is there?

I think you are only saying this to show off that you can do it fast, nothing else. Nobody cares about how good you are at the game. I know I needed 20+ hours, and it’s a long time per season to level

Ok, so you need 20 hours. However thats abnormally long with all the xp buffs they did. I didnt even know it was even remotly possible to take that long in S4.

Regardless they already turnes the speed of leveling into D3. They are unlikely to revert that decision because the “playerbase” believes end game starts at max level.

I wish there was a leveling journy with a middle but with all the buffs theres level 1-55 then 100. Everything inbetween 55-100 is the same because you just kill mobs 40 levels higher then you.

Diablo 4, a game that manages to disappoint everyone :joy:
