The buff and debuff bar needs changes

The buff and debuff system in Diablo IV is a little bit frustrating. There are too many buffs to look at and the buffs will hide behind debuffs if you get enough of them. It gets to the point where I am looking at my buffs/debuffs during combat instead of the play field. Which is just not fun. Look at this

I don’t need a buff to tell me I am in grizzly rage. My entire bars changed for that. I don’t need a button to tell me my next bear ability is free when you can just make my bear abilities glow when they are free. I don’t need a buff that tells me I have +0 ranks to earth skills when I have fortify. (tooltip has been wrong since beta). I don’t need to know when my next wolf skill heals me, just make my wolf skills glow when I get the heal proc.

Please cut these down.

I wasn’t aware there were even icons for debuffs. They’ve never shown on my character no matter how many debuffs I get.

As for the bar, that’s pretty minimalist. Not sure how they could cut down on that more than it is without just outright removing it entirely.

They could do this instead. Its what diablo 3 did

The whole UI needs work. Option to change scaling, map zoom, map transparency…

I’m playing on a good-size screen, and the skill/resource element could be about half the size it is now.

Yea lots of clutter. and it’s UP there on the screen.
They didn’t follow the path of errors and poor design judgement D3 UI was riddled with. For that I’m grateful. Dialogue Boxes, completion boxes. + skill/paragon on screen and clickable. Not fun having a Paragon window pop open while engaging a big pull.

I’ll add my .02…
Along with you wanting to customize/limit the buff bar.
Also what we need is:
A Lock Option. When you mouse over those or especially your skills while playing.
Those Tool Tips popping up taking a significant portion of the screen.
Mousing over the bar/tips while in combat neutralize my actions and block the screen.
I now have to move away from target or intended area/action “southbound” and then reacquire etc.
Exactly how it was in D3 and I always loathed it. Click on the skill bar area or a tooltip popup window and your actions/character - dead stop.
That information is for town downtime if at all.

At least an option - as you wish to hide some features - I want my screen real estate uncluttered with things i should not worry about interacting with when i have a screen full of enemies and effects going off on it.
I want it Locked - Neutralized - ie. Transparency Mode where it’s visible but as an opaque overlay I cannot interact with and more importantly - it cannot interfere with me.

I’m trying out a Summoner necro with Iron Maiden and Decrepify.
I can’t tell which mobs i’ve already cursed, since there is no indicator that lets me know which mobs have or have not been cursed.

Enhanced Iron Maiden “… Does not work with enemies who are already Cursed with Iron Maiden”

It’s really time that they address this very simple thing.

I’m running a druid build that really needs to watch its buffs which is very difficult when they’re pushed out of sight by static buffs like elixirs. If I don’t get a proper trample reset with hunter’s zenith because I couldn’t see the buff to confirm that I got a free cast then I’m just useless for 12 seconds.
Which is worse in multiplayer because now I can’t tell if I got the kill to get the buff or if the 3 other barbs got the kill which will make me resource-starved.
