VoH ended on a massive cliffhanger. Instead of continuing with the main plot, S7 is back to goofy filler adventures.
Do we really have to wait for more than a year before the main story resumes?

Didn’t they specifically say on the campfire, in response to a Q & A question, that “going forward” they would be building off the events of VoH’s story a bit more. May not mean it’ll end up super connected and a direct continuation but it sounded like it won’t be like the self-contained stories like they were in S1, S2 and S3 etc.
We’ll have to see come January, when they reveal more about S7’s story. Or maybe it’ll be on the PTR, didn’t sound like the questline would be part of the PTR though, just the mechanics and powers etc.
Otherwise, yes I agree, waiting another 18 months or however long until the next expansion, for any meaningful story progress (safe to say VoH’s plot didn’t deliver in this regard) feels bad.

The main story continues with the extensions. In the seasons, we will probably just have side events related to it.
If you want to know how it ends, you will have to buy the next Xpac or maybe the one after.
Yes. The bad guy took over the nice guy 's body and continue using Zakarum’s light to perish evils, heal the world, sign peace contract with High heaven. Eternal conflict ends here. No more story.

If the next xpac is the same amount of content it shouldn’t even take a year.
Mephisto will pose as Akarat and say “Hey guys, lets go to these tombs where Diablo and/or Baal are! For some reason.”

No the biggest problems are there is no class variety because they insist on swing meta bull crap. There is meta build and everything else is piss. Meta build all looking for the same exact gear because there is no other way to build. Its use this specific gear to a T or your build is trash. The developers made the game this way.
Second biggest problem is there is no end game. All the one button warriors want to call everything end game but it isn’t. It’s all farming content. Run 3000 pits so you can get your worthless paragon. Run 3000 hordes so you can keep rerolling your rng masterwork on the boring gear that is the same as everyone else. Kill 5 bosses 3000 times trying to deck out in mythics that are insane some seasons and worthless in others.
Expansions campaign was bad yes but it’s far from the biggest problem. Whether you love PoE or hate it, the livestream should at least show everyone the two above problems in this game. He’ll if you want to talk campaign which is what this game should excel at… it’s a few hours long. PoE2 campaign is 50 hours. Only 25 for ea but at launch 50. 100 bosses with actual combat instead of a few bosses that you one shot 1000 times. Open eyes people.

My glyphs are probably maxed and 300 paragon is a lord of the rings journey from here on out so I’ve got farming obducite to try to triple or at least double crit some items and that’s pretty much all my endgame is now. But getting triple crits is just going to make the lord of the rings 300 paragon take slightly shorter.

1 bugged build being a classes meta is stinking garbage. Like when you go outside a building and the dumpster is there and it smells. So they do a lot of class buffs but still not enough for them to max their glyphs. The garbage pile increases in size and stinks even harder.
The antivenin potion exploit made me realize how underpowered the non bugged builds are. Blizzard Entertainment. Garbage men of the game world.

i think they came to conclusion that people are not that interested in Bps. But they do buy the “big” addons. So instead of making every 2 years an addon and 8 seasons between they rather go for more addons with less content.
Cause people dislike MTX but love ADDONS. So now we get many small addons. Maybe we can kill meph next addon. Then they tease baal. And in the year 2030 we can kill diablo in the 7th addon.
Or now that i think about it, i will just play PoE 2 and Titan quest 2 and pretend i never played D4…

Well… yes. Did you have to wait a year between launch and VoH? Yes. yes you did. s1, s2, s3, s4, and s5 had nothing to do with anything either, so why would you think s7 would be different?
Seasons have nothing to do with the campaign. They never have.

Mephisto’s goal, like spoiled in the book you can find in Tormented Ruins dungeon at Nevesk area, will be to spread Lie around the world as embodiement of Light.
And bring back Diablo and Baal.

Its not, OP. Season 6 is not the story. Season 6 is the stupid marching portal mechanic.
Same way that season 1 was not the story either. Season 1 was Malignant stuff.
You are blurring the lines of the story and the starting season. They are separate entities.

Different strokes for different folks. I’m not saying D4 is better or worse than PoE 2 will be, but it’s definitely different and made for a different crowd entirely. It would be like comparing KFC to McDonalds. Both are fast food restaurants with two completely different menus and ways of doing things.
PoE 2 definitely won’t kill Diablo, nor will Diablo kill PoE 2. For that matter people can enjoy both at their leisure. Now I will admit PoE 2 does certain things better in my opinion, but definitely not everything, vice versa with D4.

the biggest problem of d4 is that they refuse to add any meaningful free content in their seasons and only gonna add meaningful content in their paid expansions
