The Barber malignant heart ruining Inner Sight?

When using “Caged Heart of The Barber” on a Rogue with Inner Sight specialization, while the target is absorbing your attacks you do not generate any meter towards Inner Sight. Not sure if this is intended but it totally ruins the ability.

This heart also is based off the target and not the player, meaning that for example: during a world boss if 1 player out of 20 attacking the boss has this Malignant Heart, it applies for EVERYONE and all 20 players will begin to store damage into the target. This means that even people outside of my group can ruin Inner Sight for me and every other Rogue present.

Caged Heart of The Barber: Critical Strikes and all subsequent damage within 2.0-4.0 seconds is absorbed by your target. Then, the absorbed damage erupts onto surrounding enemies. Stored damage is increased by 10% per second.

Posted this in the bugs section, but figured I’d put this here as well. I could be wrong but it seems this is how it is interacting.

This should be a bigger issue. This bug that it affects EVERYONE is ruining parties as well.

I assume this is a bug but it’s making playing with my friends and even doing world bosses a giant pain. Without Inner Sight we lose a huge nuke of damage. I hope they fix it.

while they at it fixing this, they might also fix lucky hits … bc you cant lucky hit with it either.

Knowing Bliz, they will probably disable Barber for a week and then “fix” it to make Sorcs explode with the damage.

But I can see them pausing it, like they did with a few aspect around launch.

yes this is broken please message the devs and file bug reports - this is not how this is supposed to work i guarantee it

Yea it also affects the exposure keystone and the fundamental puncture as well, makes for a pretty butt experience for playing rogue

Also, I can NOT proc vulnerable with puncture when using this heart! Anyone else?

yea other classes have issues as well with barber… I know druid earthen might won’t proc. You can only proc it when your not storing damage and havent crit which would start storing. So pretty much you never proc it.

Edit: I did manage to test out with someone running the Barber Heart. It does seem that my damages are absorbed too and counted as part of his effect (he did one crit, then I did all the DPS, and we could see a massive life drop on a boss). I still experience the Inner Sight issue.


This bug is really ruining group play, and solo play in certain cases.
I am unsure if it is fully tied to the ‘Caged Heart of the Barber’, but there are instances in which:

  1. Inner Sight does not fill; and
  2. on bosses, the life bar of the boss does not go down and then suddenly goes down by big increments of x% (I am not running the Caged Heart of the Barber, so it’s not from that) and no damage outputs are displayed on my screen (as in, I don’t see the damage numbers on my screen).

I do feel this happens more in group than solo plays - this is also new, I was running Rogue pre-Season 1 and never experienced this, even in group plays.

No but this is fine. Seasons are supposed to be a sand box for blizzard to try new and exciting (lol) things. And go back to a solid eternal base after the season is over. :joy:

not only that you cant lucky hit and generate dark shrouds either

Just got this and while its powerful, it also seems to mess with weapon imbues in a very negative way. Kind of messes my entire build up

This does feel weird, because while it’s exactly as described on the heart, it made me go from “Damn I’m doing good” to “… why is nothing working anymore?” the moment I equipped it.

Momentum isn’t triggering. In turn, Stolen Vigor doesn’t trigger, which is a key aspect for staying alive. Vulnerable doesn’t trigger, making the Exploit rune useless. I don’t remember if it had an effect on Combo Points (I got the unique gloves for them, so not running Insight at the moment).

We fought a world boss about 2 hours ago, and I was very confused because I couldn’t seem to land a hit. Every now and then, a massive crit (1.2M+) would pop up (I’m 60, that’s a lot), but I was dying constantly because Stolen Vigor wasn’t doing its thing.

It would be nice to receive a clarification if this is designed to work like this and make us experiment, or if this is unintended and will be fixed.

Came back to try it after the big Nerf.

I was in a dungeon with my normal team. One was wearing the barber heart. My imbues, vulnerable and lucky hits were not going off, leaving me without energy unused imbues and just standing there. I just want to play a game and have fun…

I think I’ve taken all I can. It’s not my job to help create their game for them. I cannot play this with my friends, because of this. Absolutely 0 fun. I don’t even want to run with players any more because of it. I shut the game off after two runs, and it’s not my friends fault. I could wipe the monsters out immediately when he wasn’t wearing it.

I’m just frustrated playing what I feel like is an incomplete game. There are my two cents no one wanted, but I hope Blizzard Team sees this.

Noticed it yesterday too. In the morning everything worked out as intented, but a few hours later i only saw immune and absorbed damage. My friends also have reported that Problem when we played in the evening together. I will try a different heart and see what happens.

The enemy is immune during those (4) seconds. If the enemy is Immune then obviously you’re not going to be able to trigger a whole lot of different things. Including exposure.

It can proc lucky hits, it just doesn’t proc certain things based on the wording of abilities it seems.

Can confirm - barber is super buggy - they didn’t do much QA testing on this season stuff. So many insane bugs.
