There simply aren’t enough slots to go around anymore. Between the mandatory uniques and damage multiplier aspects each class has there just aren’t enough slots left to experiment with different builds. This is only going to get worse as time goes by with more and more new uniques and aspects getting introduced to the game. We just saw that with the inclusion of the vampiric aspects.
It’s high time to introduce a system like Kanai’s Cube from D3 into the game, add extra ring slots, or at the very least to remove all the damage multiplier type aspects and buff classes accordingly to free up those mandatory slots that are otherwise always auto included. With how limited aspect slots already are they should do fun things like (to use Sorcerers as an example) adding meteorites to you Meteor or icicles to your Blizzard, not straight up damage multipliers.

or we will have build diversity and you have to pick and choose which aspects to use for your build, instead of being able to equip everything?

I mean there is an itemization rework coming up, along with a hint about a rework for the aspects/codex. We’ll just have to wait and see what they’ve come up with. I doubt they’ll be listening to any feedback regarding these matters until S4 comes out though. Blizzard typically likes to stick to their ideas, push them out, then make adjustments afterward.

I had the fantasy that with the expansion they will reintroduce the belts as an additional piece of gear, already present in Diablo 2. They could contain utility and defensive aspects, and help us create builds with greater complexity.

No one is asking to be able to equip everything but when a class is balanced around having to auto include multiple damage multiplier aspects as sorcerers are, it leaves no room for anything else. Do we really need an aspect that gives you a damage multiplier for having a barrier and another one that gives you the same for having a barrier AND hitting a vulnerable target? It’s just unimaginative while at the same time needlessly restricting.

This is why they have announced the itemization rework for season 4.

I think people need to spend more time making their own builds instead of jumping straight to a guide to see what the most powerful oils options are. The aspect and unique system are there to present the players choices. Unfortunately many players are boxing themselves in by not looking beyond whatever their build guide of choice tells them.
It also hurts that everyone prefers to stick with only the top tier or second tier builds and doesn’t care how B-D tier builds perform or that other builds not on any tier list are possible.
Aspects bring viability to some builds, uniques enable or transform others and Uber uniques crank those builds potential up to 11. Starless skies and shako are game changing pieces. Doombringer and grandfather have absurd potential.
Some classes can throw on 6 or 7 uniques and do well without aspects. Its sounds like people want the best of both worlds, but that kind of power is absurdly bad for the game. Even in its current form it’s already bad enough.
Correct me if I am wrong but they announced that way back in November and we haven’t heard anything concrete since then so that doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, especially since season 3 will end in just over a month’s time.

You must be new to how Blizzard works, so they’ll announce something vague first. You’re not allowed to ask questions, as it’s “in the works”, then a week before a big patch they’ll let you know exactly what they’ve been working on. It’s a great system, my boss would totally accept me telling him to wait for several months with little to no updates on a project.

It was briefly mentioned in the last campfire. Towards the end when they announced the PTR.
The communication from Blizzard is awful but that is nothing new.

There is only one real solution here.
When a unique or aspect is mandatory, then nerf it.
Or move it to the skill tree.
Only thing i heard was “waaahhhhh…i want all the things”
I wonder how many aspects you are using that are just plain garbage.
God, I wish! Been playing Blizzard games ever since I got my first computer. I guess you can say what you will about them but at least they’re consistent in not communicating, lol!
It’s March which means rainy season so I am just going to assume the troll bridge you live under got flooded and you came out here to escape the rising water.

Question: why you guys focus only and only in the damage ? Remove 1 damage multiplier and add this aspect if you want to play it.
I did it to my druid build because I would like my wolves looks like werewolves and spreads rabies so I removed one damage multiplier aspect. My build have space for offensive aspect only in 4 slots and I barely can tell you the difference in the final damage because my build does enough damage to melt an entire level 100 room in few seconds without worry if there are elites or not. Thanks to Malignant ring, Dancing Bolts and Electrocution Glyph.
Well I can’t speak to anyone else and I am sure it’s different from class to class and build to build but in my specific case I just have no choice. I can’t afford to lose a massive damage multiplier on my weapon to get something fun but minor like the double hydra aspect or extra meteorites during Inferno. It’s an insurmountable DPS loss of 50%+
2H Weapons that give 100% bonus but you probably are using a Unique or Grandfather? Lol.

Sorcs don’t have great unique weapons. Flamescar is for a skill that’s still basically just a meme, Oculus actually reduces your damage (though it has its uses), and our “Uber” weapon is a bit of a joke - fun for taking on less challenging content, but not something you’d build around for a challenge like AoZ (also it doesn’t help with bosses). Meanwhile, Storm Swell on a Staff is a 60% damage multiplier.

shall have a system like in D3 where we can cube weapon+armor+amyRing aspects
I wish they were more adventurous with spells, skill trees and aspects that actually changed up how skills function rather than X multiplication damage.
Your sorcerer spell ideas are good examples.
It’s like they forgot how D3 runes totally changed the behaviour of a skill or spell completely, which added variety and fun!
Hey blizzard you guys remember FUN?!? Yeah didn’t think so …

This is what I miss most from D3. Runes were a huge step forward and not having them is equally a step back. Being able to change the elemental type of skills in particular has the potential to be very impactful, to say nothing of the visual diversity which D4 sorely lacks.
