I’d rather you devs remove dust devils entirely than capping skill size with tempering.
For the first time we get affixes that actually translate to meaningful gameplay and playstyle changes and people had too much fun so you AGAIN decided that your game cannot have too much fun. For the first time Rend felt a little more than a basic skill but no, it must remain a basic skill i guess with worse dps than Bash an actual basic skill.
Just consider how stupid this is with even dust devils in mind their set build for the reason: based on their patch notes if you place dust devil size and dust devil chance you actually can overcap both as you cannot have more than 15 dust devils (oops spawn chance oblitirated) and size is capped at 100 where you can get 99% of on one two hander.
They nerfed hota, rend, ww, ds , upheaval, ground stomp, leap, & rupture max sizes JUST becese they just had to make some wind f@rt build viable but not burn your gpu.
Here is a genious idea for you, why dont you simply cap the skills that cause issues? And not all skills some of which are already trash.
This one change truely shows that you just slap the quickest solution to every problem without actually considering the very appearant complications it causes.
I think some of the changes are because of console and its a shame. I dont like my PC game being adjusted because of console but that is the way it goes. WE dont know that is why but that is what I suspect.
I will still make dust devil build sometime but not in S4.

There are 5 classes in the game. Dust devil isn’t the only target build. There are multi screen freezing Nova/corpse explosion builds targeted as well.
100% radius is big enough. Sure your rend has tiny radius, that’s just life.
I’d much prefer to see the game and play it, rather than having my screen completely obscured by another player as they kill everything.
I can still assure you, +100% size is also more than enough for any skill. DD got limited to a max of 15 on top of the size cap, so clearly it wasn’t just a DD issue.
Tbh, the only reason to care about DD Size AT ALL is the stupidly designed Shout DD Aspect, which grants a multiplicative bonus to damage based on size. Otherwise, you’d generally be better off stacking Double chance.
Freezing nova trigger was addressed in the patch notes if you actually paid attention. Regardless, they can “cap it” by reducing the values on the nova size affix it is not like classes have limitless slots.
Simply reducing values on tempered affixes of problematic skills would have solved all the issues.
The part where those skills are nerfed. They’re still going to be significantly better than their live iterations.
But please, continue. I’d love to hear more about screen-wide skills ever being balanced. The uhh, thing that Only Barbarians really get to do because they get 3x the value out of any Tempered Affix.
Convince the devs to drop a 2H slot from Barb to bring its balance more in line regarding Aspects and Affixes, then cap removal can be discussed.
If you actually used ur brain, you’d consider that barb should cause MOST issues due to 4x weapons so 6x your normal affixes. Other classes are way easier to balance.
If barb has an issue with only one even none skill damage size increase then this should tell you this should have been more targeted.
They mentioned the barb weapon issue and that they are going to try to buff other heroes instead of nerfing the crap outta barbs. Rule of cool I thinkie. Give sorc 3rd enchant slot!!! I will be like Conner Mcgregor coming out to do interview before the fight if you know what I mean.
Not agree with everything here, but the possibility to overcap is weird indeed. Asuming you got a legendary 3x boost from masterworking on these size affixes then its quite unlucky if it overcaps.
Barb is in a better state. After all its 1 out of 5 classes.
Tbh Rogue needs more attention than Barbs. We Barbs had our glory days. Its ok to be weaker, even weakest classes. With 4 weapons that’s never been the case. Hence controlling tempering powers is way more balanced than handing out wild cards.
Blizzard have ptr test data and base on it, tested further internally. You are not smarter just tunnel visioned on a small scope, not seeing a broader picture. Non of us do without big data.
