That was NOT BETA - That was the Final Product

(TL:DR) There is 2 months left. What we had played over the last 2 weekends, was NOT BETA. That was the final product. There is not enough time. Lets be real. Next month they will start to get ready to “ship” digital and physical…if they have not started already, as well as finalizing several other things or issues. This was for only marketing and their servers.

EDIT: There has been a few that have mentioned we played an “older beta”. I would like to point out that there is like a 2% difference in what we played and the final product. Stuff like Invisible walls and very small changes have or will be made. NOTHING GAMEPLAY WISE. How much logic or sense does it make, to make players play on something that is “older” and not a “more completed” version? It does not make any sense. WE ARE PLAYING THE FINAL PRODUCT. And leads me to my next point, then why would they ask for feedback on an older version when they have an more updated version where feedback would not apply. A lot of things are not adding up.

EDIT 2: You guys are adults and you can hear criticism, it’s okay. Try not to insult or cry. WE all like the game and are just trying to make it better. I am just pointing out, you guys have no clue what Activision’s policy on games is apparently. Keep wishing guys. It all evolves around rushed product with a focus on battle passes, daily quests, weekly quests, in cash chops and a heavy focus on purchase-able tmogs. That is Activision’s policy that it applies to all Blizzard games.

They have had other “betas” and alphas and a media beta and all everyone played was Act 1, the same thing over and over. No major changes at all over the course as well.

What we played was the final product and a Marketing Scheme. Notice how they advertise and just how much they advertise for a Beta, early access to 'beta" and then making deals with companies like KFC ect. It was all just to drive sales and attention and just for Marketing Purposes. When is the last time you have seen a game or any video game, advertise it’s beta with other large corporations in an attempt tp drive revenue at both companies or multiple companies?

Places promote games and final product services … no one promotes a Beta.

TO ANYONE WHO THINKS DIFFERENT: I ask you this; have you played a Blizzard game in the last 5 years? We, the paying customers are and will be their “Beta” testers. You know it and there is no arguing against that.

And this also brings up the point of everyone playing Act 1…do you think things are going to get better in the next Acts? Well guess what…the odds are they will not. There will be just as many complaints - same dungeons, the same layouts, no UI changes, no talent updates, the same things to do, the same imbalance (cause they only had feedback on 25 levels). It will take them months alone just to “try” and balance player power at max level. If not longer.

People will still attack 30% faster if you click attack instead of hold it down.
The bad gameplay mechanics will still remain.
There will be no UI changes. That would involve making two separate UIs and they don’t have time for that now.
They cant add talents … not now the game is done and the “leggos are made”
The list goes on.

They will probably fix the rubber-banding and lag issues and maybe give us a map overlay.

In all odds … we might not see a more final product until a year out. After they have used this first year, all their players as actual testers and the non stop complaints to address some things.

To those who didn’t know, I just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Thanks for reading!

It was Beta, you just didn’t like it.

Two months is plenty of time to make adjustments, big and small. Its all about proper management and that’s up in the air so I guess we will see in two months.

So i never even saw a kfc commercial or any kind of advertisement whatsoever. But anyway they even said that this was 2 beta builds ago. Lol

That’s what you took out of that after reading it huh. lol.

I like the game, i have (HARDCORE) a level 25 Sorc and a level 25 druid. Killed the Butcher, played about 60 hours or more between the weekends.

I am just being realistic. There is a lot of polish needed, but we would all be fools to think they are going to fix a lot of these before launch.

That would be the media beta, which is the exact 98% same one we played. Good try

thanks for coming on here and letting us know blizzard.

I was worried some random crazy on the internet was gonna tell me instead.

None of what you’ve said here changes the fact it was a beta and you are objectively wrong.

Aparently you work there and know this?

Closed beta > server beta 1 > server beta 2 > june 2nd launch server configuration beta with live services integration testing > june 6th diablo 4 gameplay balance beta > [tba date] season 1 real launch of Diablo 4

If you didn’t realize this pattern already, you clearly don’t play many Blizz products

No, what we played was an older build that Blizzard stated was an older build even at the time we played the beta.

it was a semi older build of the game. Seen various sources this build was from around december

Yeah, you’re more or less right.

Calling it beta was just a marketing tactic. That was a stress test and demo for players.

There is going to be so much unbalanced stuff when the game releases. There will be a ton of bugs going into act 2 and beyond.

Good thing they’re giving a few weeks before the first season to fix the worst offenders in balance. But it’ll still be a mess.

welcome to 2023 every game get released once it’s “good enough”

from what i’ve seen we are ready for that season 0 with no ladder and im confident season 1 will be fun, and season 2 even better!

I doubt that beta version we played was the latest version of the game they have… they are probably “miles” ahead on the most current version.

It’s 2023, they still sell physical versions of games? That was an 80GB download, how many DVDs would that take?

Op, you have no proof of your claims.

It was the final product and they never said otherwise. They essentially tested the game in terms of server load for the June release where millions will try to log in and will only implement minor tweaks after beta feedback.

I thought it was a perfectly working game.
All the complaints I had were more about design.
It’s ready for release.

There is no such thing as a final product videogame anymore.

Games are always in development, post-release.

Blizzard, especially, has completely overhauled their games during their lifetimes, which seems to be infinite.

They literally tweeted it was an older build… lol

I know but it’s really not massively different from release build.
They literally said, they are doing beta mainly to test the entire viability of online and massive amount of players, two months before release to see if it can handle it.

The difference between Beta and final product will not be massively different. PS: They will release a podcast in April telling us exactly what they will tweak based on beta feedback. Tweaks only.

PS: They already said stuff like they won’t change barbarian, the skill tree is all we get, and also there won’t be more zooming out. But they are looking into stuff like dungeon mechanics like not having to get two keys all the time to open the door, etc.
