(edit) I’m not talking about the sound. I am completely aware that there is an option that turns the sound file off. I’m talking about the floating text smack in the middle of your screen.
That message, and all equivalents (Not enough mana, fury, etc…) has got to go before launch. Please let us have the option to turn that off completely.

good idea. i hated a lot of the error sounds in wow. remember having to go in the sound files to replace the ones i didnt like with empty sound files with the same name/size lol
Pretty sure it was in the options, “Error speech” or something similar with an option to turn it off. 
No, it’s not in the options. you only get the option to turn off your character from saying it. You can turn off the sound file from playing. But there was no option to turn off the text in the middle of your screen.
For a group of devs that don’t want a map overlay, because they think it would detract from their game’s visuals… I don’t get how this got through their alpha testing.
The floating text is annoying and CONSTANTLY on your screen.
I don’t remember seeing this text on screen. Is it an additional option for speech to text or something? I certainly remember hearing those words, and it was pretty annoying.
Yeah, I dislike a lot of the UI bloat myself. Really hoping they add a feature that allows us to resize things. Just moving things to the left corner didn’t really cut it for me. This is probably my biggest gripe about the game so far. I need a smaller HUD!!!
Well, I’m very sorry to make you aware of it. But you will not be able to unsee it from now on.
Just watch ANY video on YouTube of a real person playing the game. You will see it. And you will see it come launch. It’s there. It’s real. It’s for everyone. It’s really annoying.
The worst was picking up a note on the floor or a table or whatever. Then clicking it off from being read but still have that white sheet in the middle of the screen for like 30 seconds while you just pulled a whole room. That text was obnoxious.
I agree with you there as well. But the UI didn’t drive me nuts. That floating text did though.
Honestly I like it. It’s a staple of all blizzard games and brings back some nostalgia ¯_(ツ)_/
This as well. However, this was seldomly happening. You don’t get a letter to read like that every other second. You DO get that error message on screen though. All day, every day.
ohhhh… pretty sure you want to turn off the ‘chat bubbles’ then. i cant remember which section of the options that was in.
And I’m all for you keeping it. I just want the option to turn it off.
Yea totally should be a thing. I’m sure someone will figure it out if blizzard doesn’t put an option for it
The what we see with text on screen needs to be way more customizable than it is, it’s pretty intrusive. Like constantly seeing immune or whatever is being spammed. I’m happy to see numbers but sometimes not both or all information. Give us some more options please to tweak this up!
UUUUGGGGH! i hated that, too! couldnt for the life of me figure out how to turn that off. in D3 it just popped up a little box in the corner that you could click to close. that was bad eough. but right in the middle of the screen! terrible!
I’ll try it. I was in the options trying everything though, and I’m pretty positive that I had tried what you’re suggesting. But i’ll give it a go again.
I’m sure it’s not there though, and if the option isn’t there. WE NEED IT!!! lol
Sad thing about that is… I’m sure addons will get you banned. I was thinking the same thing, keeping my figners crossed for an addon. Then i realized they would likely just ban addon use.
I just rewatched some of my gameplay and I see the text now. Thanks for nothing, for making me see this forever now.
