Temporary fix for VRAM LEAK

Hey guys I have a temporary fix here for the VRAM leak.
Anyway it helped me to play and stream the game not only 30 min. Now I can stream it for 2 hours but I have to change the textures once so that the memory empties again.

And First excuse for my bad English I come from Germany and am a small Streamer and use just DeepL.

At the start of the game the Vram is no longer at 6.5GB and after 15 min at 7.8GB but at 4.5GB and after 2 hours approx. at 7GB then I change the textures once.

My card is a RTX 2070 OC 8GB

Now what did I do.

  1. first we go to the folder:
    C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Diablo IV

  2. there we open the (LocalPref.ini) file.

  3. now we change one or two things and add something else. First look for ( HardwareClass ) Change the value to 1 this has already helped some people in Diablo 3.

  4. now we disable a few things.
    DisableChromaEffects “1”.
    DisableTrilinearFiltering “1”
    GpuCrashReportingMode “0”
Exactly as it is written here.

  5. now we add two values just put them at the bottom of the list or where you want them. These settings are still present in the beta.
    MipBias “-1.000000”
    MipOffset “-1.000000”

  6. after that save the file and set it to write protected.

Now we come to further steps you can do. 1.

  1. download MSI Afterbunner and RTSS
With RTSS you can limit your FPS to your wishes, but I would recommend 60-80.

  2. download ISLC and set it correctly for your RAM memory this has nothing to do with VRAM. This program will drain your RAM.

  3. increase your virtual memory. Under Windows.
Open “View advanced system settings”. You can open it from the Windows search menu and type “view advanced system settings”.

In the “System Properties” window that opens, click the “Advanced” tab. Then, in the “Performance” section, click the " Settings " button.
Then in the “Performance Options” window that opens, click on the “Advanced” tab. And in the “Virtual memory” section, click the " Change " button.

Then the " Virtual Memory " window will open. Uncheck “Automatically manage paging files size for all drives”. Then select " Custom size ", and enter the initial and maximum values for the paging file you want. You can try an initial value of 1.5 times and a maximum value of 3 times the installed physical RAM. If the system does not get more powerful, change the size until you find the best value.
Then click the “Set” button and the “OK” button.
Click all the “OK” buttons and restart your PC.

I hope this will help some people enjoy the game more. There is nothing more we can do. But these things have helped with me  I hope that these will also be helpful.

How do other streamers play?
I see that you like tweaks, but you don’t understand what they do. Sure, some of them may help if something is not working properly. But most likely you’ve already customized something on your system and the game isn’t working as intended. The developers are testing the game on a PC that has not been tweaked and is configured by default.

While I appreciate the thought put into the post, I don’t think this is really a fix.

You still have to reset the buffer. Granted you might have yours working longer, but I’m thinking its like a placebo effect.

How do you know that ALL these suggestions together in their entirely led you to this conclusion?

Too many people try too many different things at once and often jump up and say Eureka! When it may only be one or two things that needed adjustment.

I mean for example, the swap file thing. That’s an insane amount of space set. I’m not even using a swap file at all and mine works fine.

But I don’t recommend that, as it has consequences if you have issues. You should have it set to Windows Defaults, at a minimum.

Anyway.

Maybe spend more time trying each suggestion by itself one by one, before assuming all of its needed.

Thanks,
