Hi, I opened the chest before talking to the blacksmith during the tempering quest to unlock tempering but now it won’t let me complete the quest. The tab for tempering is still shaded out and I cannot use it…please fix this ASAP.

I have similar issue, I can temper but can’t upgrade 
the icon is disabled

I’ve done the same thing. I opened the chest before speaking to the Blacksmith. The quest says Temper an item at the Blacksmith but it’s faded out when I open the Blacksmith window.

Mark another one down for bugged quest.
Playing a barbarian, if that makes a difference.
Also caught the vendor bug, where vendors open and auto close.

and another one, am i surprised not so much with the incompetence with d4 even with a ptr and free testers.
Right click on the scrolls in your inventory and they will unlock the tab.

I had same problem… your gonna laugh at yourself. The recipe you get from the chest READ IT (right click item) you can then use it at the blacksmith!!!

you have to use the recipe page in your inventory first (right click) the item then go to blacksmith

same problem here 
Not only tempering but also masterworking icons are disabled
I have the issue with the masterworking quest. Cannot go to the masterworking tab despite having quest to masterwork an item.

Guys, just learn some tempering recipes. That worked for me
Any fix for this yet, I’ve got the greyed out Masterworking tab as well after closing the quest dialogue and no way to return to this tab?
