Tempering opinion/suggestion

So it’s about tempering and bricking, I believe many people hated that and expressed their frustration. Now tempering is simply part of the drop RNG, but if’s cut into two pieces. There is no point to have an RNG on top of RNG. It’s not part of a journey, tempering is just part of the drop RNG with rolls from a tiny pool of 4 or 5 affixes on top of the three affixes. It’s still part of the drop RNG. We know what affixes we are choosing, so we always roll for that specific affixes, or that piece of gear is bricked. I don’t know why you guys make tempering this way, maybe I do, just to make trading not the end of the journey, but obviously not a good idea. Adding some more tempering charges simply doesn’t help. We still just want that specific affixes for our build. How about just let us choose the affixes and once rolled set in stone, can’t change it, or only reroll for the range for like… total 7 times, instead bricking. As I said, tempering is just part of the drop RNG. You think triple GA is not enough, we need even more RNG. I don’t know your goal of tempering, but bricking is just same as we pick up a gear with 3 or 4 affixes we want, not 5. No one feels good at bricking. We are willing to reroll 100 times to get the right affixes than to brick. I don’t know, you guys use tempering to cut drop RNG into two parts, it’s just not good feeling to do tempering at all, like praying to the RNG god to show his mercy one more time.

Exactly, either give us a RNG on the power of the affix, or RNG on which affix you get, NOT both. It’s just poor planing and bad psychology, more people are quiting over it, only a very small minority is okay with bricking and that’s just bad business. Don’t cater to no-lifers who can play 8 hours a day every day.

I’ll repost my fix here

1- There shouldn’t be any RNG attributed to which affix you get, only for the strength of the roll. Tempering is a limited ressource, it’s a miserable feeling to throw away an item because it fails to give you an essential affix.

2- Have an option for preselected affix for each gear, have a button to automatically temper any equipped item (that hasn’t been tempered yet) with it’s preset affix. This will allow people to quickly switch gear while leveling so we don’t have to spend hours rolling instead of leveling. This feature will not effect already tempered items so you won’t wast rolls on them.

3- Also, if you want to manually reroll on an item, you shouldn’t have to reselect the manual over and over. Just let us choose the affix and reroll it’s range and have it only choose the highest roll, again, rolls have a set limit so just give people what they want. There’s already plenty of RNG involved in getting gear, greater affixes being the main one, and we play seasons, so there’s no reason to make it so difficult to get ideal gear within one season. We don’t need another hamster wheel in the form of “bricking” items because of bad tempering. It’s a very, and I mean very unpleasant feeling and 2 of my friends have already quit over it after coming back for this season.

Totally agree. Currently tempering is just part of the drop RNG, but with 2 more dices. It’s just such a bad design.
