To clarify, unfair RNG is when bad luck produces a bad outcome, assuming there are 3 outcomes: Good, Bad, and Neutral.
Not finding an item is neutral.
Dying is bad.
In tempering you create the wrong item. Or, if you like: you spend resources and time discovering the wrong item.
That’s not good… and it’s not neutral either.
Tempering is easy. You just press a button many times.
What you mean is that tempering takes time. And this is the fourth time I’ve mentioned it in this thread: I want a SLOW but safe method.
And in this type of traditional farming there are only two results: Good and neutral. You find it or you don’t find it.
But there is another type of farming: farming for gold, materials, experience and runes.
In this type of farming you accumulate resources until you can achieve the result you want. The RNG surely plays a role in the speed of obtaining it, but not in the final result: that you have obtained it.
And in this type of farming, at no time do you think you have it without really having it.
I must say: I really like this tipe of farming.
What did I just say, man…
“Losing an HC character due to bad luck is undoubtedly bad.”
“If you fail because you are a bad player, because you don’t know something, or because you “lack materials” (or something like that), then I don’t have any problem.”
You didn’t die because of bad luck, that’s the complete opposite of what I’m trying to say.
If you die because you are a bad player, YES, IT’S NOT A BIG DEAL.
“Failing is fun when you learn something, because you know you will do it better next time.”
I don’t get bad rolls in tempering just because I’m a bad player, I get them because of bad luck. IT’S NOT MY FAULT.
“Ive lost 2 characters both MY FAULT.”
(Man… now I’m pissed… GOD!!!)
Do you know what you have to do to make the tempering HARD FOR REAL?
Just put a fair and very difficult boss, where each attack kills you in one hit but each attack can be dodged if you are a good player. (In other words, do a “no-hit Elden Ring run” Boss).
And then, make him have as a reward a single-use reroll that can be used on bricked items (without limitations).
Do it and you will never see me complaining about tempering again.
If I can overcome my bad luck with Skill, I assure you that I will not stop until I have good Skills.
(JESUS!!!)
