This has to be the worst mechanic in the game. Being able to brick items because you roll the wrong temper is trash game design. :wastebasket: :fire:

How many hours of farming does it take to get one? Oh yeah and I think they only work one time.

I have had 2 drop in IH in torment 1. Already used one.
I have done maybe 8 or 9 IH’s. They drop from the big chest.

Yeah… I’m not running 10 Infernal Hordes every time I brick an item at the Blacksmith for an extra 5 rolls. I’m just not gonna do it.

The scrolls are really useful when you need that extra reset.

The norm will become you will have a stack, so when you brick something you really like you can reset it from that stack.

I have not had too many bricks so far this season…I think 1 ring I had to throw away…not sure if they changed the weighting on those … it may also be the tempers I am using this season are easier to hit.

“Tempering is Trash”, a short title that says it all…Agreed!
The tempering system flow design is bad and it doesn’t help players but instead wastes their time. And they created a content patch for it called The Dark Citadel with single use reset scroll (like toilet paper rolls, only use once).

Tempering rolls shouldn’t be a part of the game to begin with. Imagine explaining this to a new player to the game. Oh you bricked an item that could have been an upgrade but is now worthless? It’s ok, go farm Helltides for a few hours until you have a bunch of Infernal Compasses then use those to farm Infernal Hordes for a few more hours so that you might get a scroll to drop that will give you 5 bonus rolls which may or may not roll correctly to give you a usable upgrade.

It’s mobile game design. I’m surprised they aren’t selling scrolls in the shop yet.

I really like diablo 4 especially the latest season and spirit born. Tempering makes me not want to play. Even with the reset roll it is still trash. I tried to get a temper that was a one in three chance supposedly and even with the reset roll on the item it still got trashed because I got the other two tempers over and over again. Also the UI needs work there is no re-roll button, I shouldnt have to dig down through the menu each time to re-roll.

Takes 10 - 15 minutes to get several scrolls. If you can run a torment 4 infernal horde the equipment chest for 200 aether gives you two.

Bricking or breaking items when trying to upgrade items in games. You want all the reward and none of the risk.

I think Im upto 50 scrolls. They are so common I dont know what to do with all of them.

Yea, I’ve almost got two stacks myself. Best part is these scrolls have solved most of my tempering issues from past seasons. I think from all the tempering that I have done I’ve bricked maybe one item after using a scroll.

I honestly thought that using a scroll would reset the temper charges AND the current tempers but its only the charges. A surprisingly generous act from Bliz.

Im torn on the matter. I kinda wish blizzard didnt cave but just my opinion.

Yes, of course. Why would I want to waste my time? I could go to the casino and have more fun there.

The scroll makes it feel a bit better, but I also bricked a GA Conjuration mastery amulet even with the scroll.

You can’t even buy these this season because there are no sorc players, so I just stopped playing. The amount of time and luck I’d have to invest to get another GA conjuration mastery amulet would be insane.

How does Tempering brick the item, dont you get to choose which stats to add?
