Rolling affixes for builds? IE golem CD on amulet, while been 1/3 chances on the receipe, 6 amulets which is 6 x 6 = 36 chances didnt have the “luck” which is absurd. Its close to impossible to NOT roll on a 33% chance but it did happen. OR earlier in the season where res isnt maxed, 6 x 6 rolls from chest gave the same lightning res? Again, extremely low chance shouldnt happened, but indeed happened.
These are non GA items ofc, imagine 3GA items. Bottom line is, 3GA items shouldnt brick at all. To compensate, the chance to drop 3GA items can be extremely rare, same rarity or rarer than uber uniques.
Sorry, but there is almost certainly confirmation bias interrupting your data here. Failing a 1/3 chance 36 times in a row is an 0.00000305% chance - it would happen ~1/33,000,000 times. Failing a 1/6 chance 36 times in a row is a far more reasonable 1/100,000 times. Even if these things did actually happen to you, which is extraordinarily unlikely, they are also utterly irrelevant to a rational discussion of the reasonability of the mechanic - and for them both to happen to the same person within the same week borders on complete impossibility.
To be clear, if these things both actually have happened to you within the space of S4 of D4, you need to buy some life insurance, and I would do it fast. The chance of being hit by lightning in your life as a US citizen are about 1/15000; you’ve managed something ~60 times less likely and something ~2000 times less likely within the space of a week.
Now, these are the odds for 12 items; you claim to have bricked 11 TABS OF ITEMS, which is something like 350 items. It’s utterly impossible for that to be the case; the chance for that to occur would have a standard deviation somewhere in the vicinity of the entirety of the lifetime of the universe. Your data is absolutely corrupted by confirmation bias, or your standards of “what is bricked” are just nonsense.
Of course i dont want a “risk”. You know, this is a GAME. If the bases would drop left and right - well yes than it is fine.
I really dont get the point here. 13 days in, well over a hundred hours gametime for me. I dont use a single 2 GA item, cause the few that actually dropped were bricked by tempering. I dont even use a single 1 GA item with 90%+ temper range rolls.
So how rare do you want proper items to be in a seasonal game?
All this BS like “good items have to be extremely rare” - think about the term “rare” in relation to the lifespan of a gearset - like mentioned, this is a SEASONAL game. If Eternal realm was the only gamemode i could at least understand your point, althougn balance patches would even then cause very limited item lifespans but in a seasonal game the current iteration is just out of control.
So you are right in a way. I dont have BIS gear. The problem is how you are on/offing this. BIS gear would be 3 GA BIS Stats, 2 BIS Tempers with 100% roll and then on top of that Masterworking. This for every Item. I dont have a SINGLE Item with 2 GA stats, let alone perfect tempering. I dont even have a SINGLE item with 1 GA and perfect tempering.
Given that i dont have a single item that is even at 50% of the “Perfect item range” - not even remotely. As BIS gear would mean farming 12 of them is a problem, you are completely right. 13 days of unhealthy EXCESSIVE gaming in a 90 day season resulting in this IS a problem.
On top it is even funny that all of those arguments are calculating in people do play season games the whole season. That is completely absurd, even the pro gamers that are indirectly paid to play the game more often than not quit like 4 weeks in and play other games.
And you will only get bis gear if you are lucky. Thats totally fine. I also play without perfectly rolled bis gear. Perhaps i find better items perhaps not. If we get everything we want in no time it gets boring.
13 days. Lvl 100, can do all endgame stuff. People with lots of time do this within 2 days maybe minutes (or less).
I wish everyone hood (and good) luck. I will continue doing Pits and upgrade all my non-bis gear to lvl 12. If i find a better item i do it again. Playing the game.
Agreed. My point was, if you want to remove the perceived RNG that some people have problems with, then you would remove a lot more RNG by removing 3GA, than by removing Tempering limit. And it would be less harmful to the game too (since GAs only increase affix numbers, it is a fairly meaningless system compared to Tempering).
I don’t think 3GA should to be removed however.
Just like Tempering limit shouldn’t be removed.
The name of the game for Diablo-like games is stacking multiple layers of multipliers.
This is the case for Damage … A skill damage is (Weapon damage) * (Points on a Skill) * (Additive multiplier) * (Multiplicative multiplier) * ...
The same works for itemization … (Item level) * (Right stats) * (Higher roll within the range) * (GA) * (Affixes) * (Tempering) * ...
Some of those layers are cheap to get (e.g. Affixes), some have ramping price (e.g. Enchantment), and others with limited attempts for success (Tempering).
Players need something to do for the duration of the Season, and always having the “Hope” of finding an upgrade.
You gotta set your expectations about your potential ceiling, due to Time-constraints not Skill (I’m speaking from the position of a father for 2-kids and a demanding job)
Don’t compare yourself to Streamers who have 3 GA’s items with perfect rolls … they earn their living by playing the game for crazy hours and show only the highlights.
You’re not my supervisor. I should be lv 100 and bis the second I make a character and select the skip campaign option. Furthermore, i should have all ubers in my stash with 24 sparks.
Tempering a Heartseeker bow is indeed ****. I’ve found at least 10 good upgrades on my current bow but they’ve all failed to roll “Chance to shoot twice” and “Vulnerable”. Yes, there should be some element of RNG but finding good gear and then having some more dice-rolling shenanigans render it useless is not fun. Getting a low roll in the range is annoying, but the item is useable - tempering, at least for this rogue scenario, sucks.
No. The problem which people have been telling you about Pelikan is that the dice are NOT fair. Certain rolls, the ones that are useful are significantly rarer. Its is not 1 of 5 or 1 of 3 its 1 out of 25 or 30. And this is only for the KIND of roll, the AMOUNT of the roll is a similar situation, and since masterworking is a % increase a low roll on the tempering severely limits the potential of an item.
No not “finally”. Not even close. Play for 1-2 months (or longer depending on your game time and expectations for item roll) and the use of that word may be justified.
It’s not supposed to feel good to brick an item. It’s supposed to be so awful so that when you do get it right it feels amazing. If everyone was producing good items all the time the excitement would be mild at best.
that’s called weighted probability and it appears in every game, higher damage potential affixes will always have lower weight than the “bad” ones, STILL, what common people don’t get, is that the system don’t care, each try is an independent event, being usefull or not, the system just drops a random result based on the current seed (set of possible numbers).
Secondly you can use AI to improve w/e you are trying to say. lmao.
Oh, that’s really nice of the developers. Instead of dropping endless junk, they are now dropping more good base items.
And now we’re no longer allowed to grumble because we’re the ones who make the item useless at the touch of a button.
It’s called perpetrator-victim reversal.
Here, your coffin is almost finished. You can hammer in the last 2 nails yourself before you lie down in it.
Just all the ubers??? Surely you mean all GAs on your ubers too?!! I mean what’s the point in a shako if it doesn’t have a bunch of asterisks next to it?
Also, all masterworking materials capped too. You’re supposed to be sitting in town/world boss area so the other 12 people can see your character, not farming stuff!
