My mages are darkness skills, that deal shadow damage, and I keep enemies vulnerable with curses.
When I’m tempering my gear I can do shadow damage, darkness damage, summon damage, vulnerable damage, and all damage. Are all of these separate multipliers for my skeleton mage damage? Is the goal to spread out my tempers across all of these damage types equally? So it would be better to have 5 different 40% increases instead of one single 200% damage type increase?
with tempering they are all additive, and effectively the same stat, so just pick the one that’s highest or most inclusive to your skills used.
As for actual multipliers, they are all independent, except for the new multipliers added on gear with this expansion. They are 3 types, crit multi, all damage multi (this includes elements/phys) and vuln multi, they function slightly differently.
Basically each “type” is additive together, and then acts as a larger single multi, eg if you had a ring, offhand weapon and gloves with crit multi on, they would be added together and then that would be a single multi.
Why this matters, if you only invest in crit multi and not in vuln or all damage/elemental multi you will have much lower damage then someone who invests in all 3 equally but has a much lower single amount of crit multi then you. eg if you have 100% x 0% x 0% and he has 33% x 33% x 33%, he massively out dps’s you while having the same amount of total multi stat/s
I found this info out by watching this guy on Youtube
