Sorry to say but I hate the tempering system.
Just today broke 2 boots with 2GA on them.
Either way this got me thinking. Why , in a game where obtaining a great items is extremely rare , would blizzard allow to break the items ? Doesn’t make any sense.
I played every rpg there is and never have I seen a system so silly .
My question is ……when an item breaks what you do ? You grind for a new one correct ? OR you simply buy a new one. See what I’m getting at ??
This is really sad.
The tempering system is actually feeding online website that sale dupes.
Intentional ? I sure hope not BUT sure looks fishy.
All you have to do is allow for the scrolls to be used either more then twice or every time you want to change an item to use for a different build.
If I were the developer, I would use the creation tool to generate the best GA gears, duplicate them, and scatter them on the floor for my other commercial login accounts to pick up and start selling.
And because I am the developer, I could add my ID to the exception list for fraud detection, making my duping actions seem legitimate in the name of testing and bug-fixing.
Once I’ve profited enough through my other commercial accounts, I would include them on the ban list to completely cut the link.
Then, I’d repeat the process every season with dozens of commercial accounts. That’s why simple filters in the chat to curb AOEAH dot com still don’t work, even though I’ve flagged those RMT messages hundreds of times.
LOL.
We should just have to farm resources to be able to buy whatever tempers we want. Maybe even be able to upgrade them a few times like with masterworking. Would give us more to do.
Of the many reasons I hate seasons, Tempering is at the top of the list. Starting around lvl 40 I start to Temper some, items I don’t care that much for. But by the time I am in T1 or T2 I start to find items I may want to keep.
The stress is just not worth it. Game is suppose to be fun, but we have a system here that sucks all the fun out of finding anything. I find something nice and I just have dread, not joy. Dread I will have to go through the Temper gamble. What makes it all the more worse is that their code seems to be bugged. You get 6 tries, choice is 1 of 3, and 5 out of 6 will be the same #*$@ one you do not want. This is not ‘random’, it is the game locking in to one single ‘random’ choice and repeating. So of the 6 tries, you really only have 1 or 2 because the other 4 will be bugged and locked on.
I did find a 3GA dagger for my Rogue, and had 8 tries. First 8 tries were a dud. So after reset, got it on 4th or 5th attempt. That was not fun, in no way can I think this Tempering is fun. Absolute worst aspect of this game.
Use the scroll to get 8 more attempts.
Tempering brick is a key element in selling duped items in RMT.
Without this node to catalyze the possibility of bricking and then buying another item, the dup sales won’t prosper much.
Tempering is the worst mechanic in this game, its just not fun to brick gg items.
The lack of a method to steadily, if slowly, work your way to near-perfect gear bothers me more than anything else in the game.
It’s exactly like going to a casino. I’ve only broken gear though while leveling. Once at cap I always make sure I have reset scrolls on hand before rolling the dice. If I don’t… then I have a plan B option… meaning if I want a certain stat and don’t get it… the last roll I’ll go with something like +chance to freeze/stun etc so at least I’ll have something.
Don’t even get me started on MW. It’s the same pull of the slot machine if you are going for triple crits. I farmed a ridiculous amount of mats last season to get my gear “perfect.”
More to hate. Scrolls give fewer attempts because the two initial free rolls aren’t included.
