Temerity max life barrier has a cap of 7959 even on new ones?

So yeah found a new pair of temerity pants with a max life roll; the barrier was 64%, I’m running thorns barb level 100 rn my health is very high and the barrier is only 7959, I had 2 pants from before the change with a higher roll and a lower roll a 76% and a 56% mod, and they both came back with 7959 barrier - what is going on?

I think the theory is that the barrier amount is based on max life but is currently capped at 100% of base life.

In the most recent campfire chat a week before 1.1.1, they said Temerity barrier was being changed to max life. The panel visibly winced when saying this.

Then near the end of the chat one of the devs thew out a caveat. Something along the lines of ‘things we’ve said today might change before the patch releases’.

I suspect they are going to tell us this ended up being one of the things they changed their minds on.

Barrier is at max base life, not actual life (or max of it), according to wudijo.

Take that as you please.

Temerity is still a POS. Then again, so are literally all of Barb uniques, except maaaaybe Ramals.

The issue is the same with the Aspect of Protector (check Aspect of Protector Not Giving Full Barrier)

The real issue here is probably that nothing in the game tell you that barrier have a max amount (or I overlooked it).

All barriers in the entire game are capped at base life.

Generic Unique Items

  • Temerity
      • All Stats affix replaced with Max Life.
    • Barrier is now based on maximum Life.
    • Now properly accounted by conditions checking for the player having a Barrier.

I don’t disagree with what the notes say. I’m just telling you that all barriers get capped at base life.

I think they misspoke in the patch notes.

How do u fight passive poison spewing mobs as thorn barb? I see them and just give up. Especially banshee/wraiths who don’t attack, more tanky than other white mobs and all they do is back away when u walk up to them.

Is Temerity a good pants? I wouldn’t want to give up 3x DR for some HP.

and then i found an 80% perfect roll of them today, yep still same 7959 cap - feelsbadman

A hotfix was just pushed for this.
