I feel like a dope for asking this but are these pants useful for a sorc? I don’t quite get the special ability- anything above your total life gives you a barrier? How do you go above your life?
It has a lot of healing abilities but my ancestral pants have good rolls with damage reduction to close and far enemies … Is it worth the switch?
Appreciate the help
I saw a post earlier on Discord saying they had smoother nm runs over a 4/4 defensive leg. Probably really going to come down to your nm tier though. I have a set too that I haven’t tried yet because I didn’t want to dump my defensive options but T60 getting rough regardless, maybe the extra bubble and heals will help more.

Not really man. They fortify at base health which is relatively low.
You are giving up straight damage reduction and or damage reduction to close and far, damage reduction while injured which can be upwards of 40%+, armor % etc.
In my opinion it’s just not worth it.

I have it and it feel pretty bad as Sorcerer can’t realy get health regen to sustain the barrier you have 3 point in fire passives but that all and its pretty bad you need to use a Legendary slot for regen when monster are nearby which is bad, using rare pants feel much better with the lot of damage reduction you can gets on this piece of gear.
Temerity is insane for other class because they can easily sustain it but not us sadly.
Temerity is very good for Sorcs.
You know what a lot of sorcs complain about? Cooldowns being too long and not being able to keep their shields up because of it.
You know what is a healing source that every class has but Sorcs rarely use? Potions. You can chug a potion at full life to gain a shield (doesn’t work in town or on a horse). Chugging potions to maintain shields while your cooldowns are down allows you to easily get 100% uptime on shield bonuses.
So, Temerity turns an almost useless resource, potions, into the answer that most Sorcs are looking for.
Wait… you can use potions at full health with the pants on? If so, thanks. Didn’t know that.
Yeah it can be good for early farming. Especially if you have high lucky hit. I used to get a full barrier straight away simply attacking mobs. On higher tiers it can’t compete against the dmg reduction on regular pants.
I chug potions like nobody’s business… How else are you regaining health or an I missing something hehe
Oh. My experience is shields absorb everything or I get 1 shot and die. I rarely drink potions to refill health.

Temerity heals you on lucky hit
I am only level 75 doing NM 24-27s so your probably right.
Lots of mixed opinions here but I did read it has good synergy with the ice fall paragon board unique where it gives you shield when you blow up a frozen enemy. Also with protection passive and mana shield. I guess the only way I’m going to know for sure if to put those pants on and see if I get annihilated lol.
Yes. Just test it for a while. You’ll see a shield go up without really having to do anything. It’s pretty good especially on your level. Use it together with the aspect that gives you extra dmg while using a barrier. You’ll have nearly 100% barrier uptime with this thing. Once you get to tier 40ish you’ll have to start looking for more Dmg reduction on regular pants.
I’ve found this is ‘cute’ at a power level when survivability is not really an issue yet.
Disobedience aspect better when hitting NM dungeons. I’ve also been trying the aspect where you get dealt less damage in your own blizzard. That feels actually a bit more effective than Temerity for Sorc, but still kind of on the cute side. The bubble aspect actually has held up pretty well since 1 shot = dead, so below healthy is also dead, so it’s one extra life as it were every cool down.
Between disobedience, bubble, flameshield enchantment…it’s somewhat okay.
But as I’ve said before, phone druid friend or scrap everything for druid/rogue is the more effective option. They are better sorcs than sorcs.
Can also combine with the aspect that held you when enemies are near

I think they are good especially coupled with the heal X for every nearby enemy aspect. Can additionally spec into warmth of you want for extra healing, however, that takes up 2 defensive slots aspect wise so would only use it if you don’t plan to use infinite chest
i honestly use them (couse my non meta build is not relaying on burning so no dmg reduction from burning etcXD) however still haven’t gone past ND 60,however they way i used them is this.
1 i have life on kill roll on the head pieace (wich work with those if you heal above 100% healt)
Also when yuo equip them you will able to use your potion to go above 100% (meaning that you can have a shield on demand as long as you are alredy at full life and well have potion to drink ofc
)
So i use them before engaging basicly so i can start the fight with a barrier alredy (wich last 10second btwXD) and benefit from the get go to of the planty of aspect that are barrier related(also using the glyph that give 10% DR when you have a barrier)
Temerity is useful for when you ditch your sorc and start playing druid.

With the ability to heal yourself even at full, I wonder if that aspect that gives a percentage of resources per health you heal works along with it?
I run a lucky hit conjuration build (yes I know, I’m weird) and its a godsend. I basically ALWAYS have a barrier up and yes, you can use potions when on full health to get a barrier.
