because…the wand stinks? If i wanted to randomly teleport. I’d play on console.
You should try Occulus on Console, it’s almost more reliable than normal teleport.
Definitely sucks playing certain builds on it tbh, but other builds do well so you just gotta work with it.
It’s arguably the funniest thing ever, too bad the wand has zero damage stats on it.
I run a conjuration build with Oculus, Raiment, and CL/UC. Hydra burning scaling issue and barber carry it, but it’s very fun even with the random teleport. A nigh permanent 30% DR is nothing to scoff at, and the constant stuns and resource on lucky hit allowed me to skip a mana aspect on a ring and still have enough regen to spam CL to get up to 4 hydras out (and tons of ice blades and lightning spears). The lack of offensive stats is mostly made up for the fact that the 30% DR allows you to skip a defensive aspect (or paragon stuff or whatever). It’s a fun trade off, but not BIS.

2 hydras from casting with the aspect. 2 more from the enchant (the aspect also doubles the enchant). Chain lightning (“CL”) to spend mana to enable hydra enchant. Crackling energy to generate mana along with the chain lightning mana on bounce aspect for mana regen (also prodigy, resource gen, and resource on lucky hit as necessary). CE also lowers shock CDs (teleport , LS, UC) with the passive, so I run unstable currents (“UC”), the ultimate, and can get the CD down to a few seconds in a big fight. CD reduction and resource recovery, but don’t invest in mana cost reduction (works against you in generating hydras from enchant). Spam CL to trigger FO and hydra enchants, get up 2 hydras, keep IB and LS on cool down, and use teleport and evade for stuns, mana, and escapes. Lots of chill and vulnerable uptime, burn on whatever hydras are attacking, and lightning galore.
I currently telestomp w/ Oculus as a LVL 95 Ice Shards build, but with 4 uniques: Oculus (as mentioned), Raiment of the Infinite, Frostburn, and Temerity. I also run with aspect of Shared Misery on the boots. Other than that, it is a pretty standard Ice Shards build (skills and paragons anyway).
I’m currently pushing +75 NMs with it as I level my 6 glyphs to 21 (only 2 are maxed, at the moment - most of the rest are lvl 15). My build definitely isn’t “cookie-cutter” and a I’m sure a bunch of people will point out that those aren’t “BIS” choices.
However, it sure is fun to play as a Sorcerer that never runs away.
ty, does anyone know off-hand whether ball Lightning (with circling aspect TP’s with u or is it left behind.
Was thinking a BL/ TP/FN base build, has a low Aspect dependent (circling ball, frozen deaths make more novas, and some dam buffs) and I have the funky amulet to add Light Nova too.
Def not best in class but may be entertaining.
It goes with you. It’s a solid build once you get the right stats on your gear. You’ll lose balls to doorways and walls, however, so it can be frustrating.
