Teleport Skill on Controller is extremely inferior compared to Keyboard and Mouse

Says the guy that cant even explain the issue he is crying about… ya ok

If they ignore this it would be first major red flag

They addressed the issue of PC players on ultra wide screens getting a unfair advantage.

As far as controller precision. There is no magic bullet fix. In games like Diablo such as Inquisitor Martyr on a controller they use a targetting reticle on button push then move to the desired location then press it again. This type gives you precision but it is slow and clunky. Diablo games on controller instead go for speed of use. Given the speed of combat it makes sense for Diablo.

There will never be a perfect system on a controller.

Yes it is.

Was news for me yesterday, maybe also for you :
That PS5 / S/X supports both keyboard and mice. So Blizzard should have integrated support for it.

Then you have same freedom/options as on pc.

No that’s not… not even close. One its not natively supported in game. Developers actually have to program m&k to work with the game. It has to do with the dev kits. It supports them as in it can recognize them. So chat and messages etc. From my understanding though support in a game on console takes a bit more work.

Also that in no way fixs controller precision. Saying plug in a m&k doesnt fix the core issue of a controller.

Then there is pvp. The vast majority of players on console will always use controllers. Its what the system comes with by defualt. So unless they do input based matchmaking meaning m&k can only pvp with m&k and vice versa you cant have equal playing field.

Right now you can turn off crossplay on console and only play with controller users on console. If they added m&k support it would mean that the controller players on console can never get away from m&k.

So its just easier to have console as controller only.

  • That isn’t a hard thing to do, especially with a big company.

  • I agree on you that

  • Easy solution for this is option to turn off cross play(not platform, but controller vs m/k) based on input for PVP

Then you would have same freedom on both pc and console.

Big game Call of duty integrated it, no excuse for Blizzard to not do this.

It is 2023.

Or they can just save time and development costs and just say no… / shrug

I agree 100% on this!

Hopefully they do address movement skills like teleport/trample going for a crate on the side instead of going in the direction youre intending to go as its very frustrating when it misfires. And set it at max distance since we cant choose where exactly to go… or even put a reticle we can aim whem holding an ability. At this point any improvement is better than how it currently is!

This is my first post ever on any forum in over 15 years. Make this radial targeting happen and i’ll preorder faster than you can say Nephalim.

Genius. I hope the Diablo Team sees this.
Not only for teleport, but other skills which would have the same problem as well.
Especially when there is large scale PvP involved later on in the game.

Blizzard hire this man and make it so!

This would be absolutely game changing. Just imagine. Either the video in the edited part or even something like the longer you hold the button, the further the distance you cast the ability.

My issue on console is aiming skills. I had so much trouble getting teleport to take me where I actually wanted to go using a controller in D3 that I dropped it for another skill entirely.

D4 I didn’t play sorc in the beta, but I had enough trouble getting skills like upheaval to hit accurately, especially when I would adjust my position slightly to try and get more enemies in the cone. And end up casting at the wrong angle.

Because the skills are dependant on where the character is facing it makes playing with a controller much more difficult. Same thing for other AOE specific skills. We lack the precision to drop things exactly where we want them to go.

Teleport has the same functionality except that a bad teleport can make things so much worse than a misplaced damage skill. I’m just hoping there is a play style in the endgame that doesn’t rely on teleport to progress.

I thought this was addressed and fixed already? I thought I saw it somewhere.

That is strange to me. I litteraly had absolutely no issues whatsoever aiming teleport in D3 on controller. Maybe occasionally get stuck on a wall when you were being too greedy with its capabilities but thats it…

We absolutly need this!

Especially for PvP since its CROSSPLAY
Blizzard - please invent it <3

As of now after testing this again during the “Server Slam”, this issue has not been resolved.

Therefore I decided to step back from this game as I lost interest in it.
Nonetheless thanks everyone for the support on this!
Maybe next game this may get resolved

D4 Server Slam still not fix this issue. Why, Blizzard?

Thats a console feature. The enemy (pvp) on Personal COMPUTOR would struggle hard if you use your unpredictable porting skill and kill them i a blaze.
