End game is seriously lacking. I like to target/boss farm for loot. Andy and SoJ farming is a good example. Might drop in 100 or it might drop in 1500 runs but at least you knew where to farm this item for your build.
Where are the ubers with drop tables for unique items items? Game was great until level 70-75 or so. Now I’m leaning towards grinding my Rogue to 100 and going back to D2R. Mindless farming sucks!
Also would not run Andy 1500 times if I had to take 2 stones to the alter every time.
Hell tides have been pretty good for me for farming, I wish they would rotate zone by zone every hour instead of an hour on and an hour and fifteen minutes off. Continuous hell tides would mean you could log in and farm anytime without the wait.
NM dungeons need to be more appealing in terms of loot drops and exp gain to be worthwhile. The effort to finish is not worth the gain to anything except levelling up sigils. Nobody wants to free 7 prisoners to gain access to a room where they get no experience or drops for killing a couple packs of monsters and elites and then blow up 3 altars or ritual sites to gain access to a boss that drops one yellow and one orange piece of loot at the end.
Along the way you may also run into a cursed pylon and cursed chest event each with multiple elites that manage to have some kind of CC and they alternate so you get CC chained. That’s just not fun and a huge turn off for running those dungeons. I don’t mind the extra loot, but if enemies have CC immunity after my effects wear off then I should have CC immunity when theirs are worn off as well. The exception would be if I break CC with a skill than I can be CCed again, but as it stands there is usually enough CC in a pack of elites to burn through your break free and still get caught another 2x before you can break it with a skill again. This is lazy game design.

That’s because you don’t know any better than to single target farm. And before you get your panties in a twist, yes I was playing Diablo in high school, D2 when it dropped and so on and so forth. So yes, I have been playing Diablo for over 25 years.
The Uniques you want, drop from any chest, any cache, any elite, and any boss currently in the game. Meaning, you can get it anywhere, doing anything at any time. I’ve looted three, just not the ones I want.
Either way, you have the same chance to loot a unique in D4 as you do your piece in D2. The difference is, you can get your unique in D4 doing literally anything, or you can mindless farm a few bosses over and over again.
Hardcore D2 players complain about repetition and lack of content in D4, but are perfectly fine killing the same boss 500 times in a row in D2. Do you see the irony?

At level 73 on one of the most gear dependent classes in the game (Druid) I managed to get a Vasily helm drop and Greatstaff of Crone. I also got quite a few max rolled or near max rolled aspects.
That might be great RNG but the items dropped by simply playing the endgame activities that Blizzard had made available to us. The more endgame activities you complete the more drops you get.
And to my fellow Druid’s out there I also got Barbarian drops along the way because our loot table is messed up right now. You just have to keep plugging away and farming the right way, especially in hell tides finding those mystery chests because they drop so much more loot and impactful items that the regular chests.
Stay with it and it will pay off.
There is actually target farming in the game.
Bliz has said for a very long time that each type of monster has their own higher chance at dropping specific types of gear Ex. Skeletons have a chance to drop any gear but have a higher chance to drop crossbows than other monster types
Don’t take that crossbow drop as fact I am not sure if anyone has actually built a loot table yet for which items have higher chance from each monster yet just an example because Bliz wants us to figure it out.
So, give it time and people will figure out which Mobs/Elites you need to farm for which items.
Also want to point out especially 20 years ago not everyone knew what each boss dropped in D2 12 days after it launched, it was also trial and error back then.

I’ve dropped rogue gear and necro gear too
last nights hell tide I dropped 3 crossbows on my Druid. My Druids just like ok…… how do I use these?
