Does anyone know what controllers will be supported on launch?
My partner used an xbox controller and I used a logitech controller and both worked fine with correct button assignments and tooltips. I watched a stream of someone using a PS controller and it looked to be working as well
yeah i was using a ps4 one
I’d imagine whatever you can get your computer to recognize, but I think it would only show in-game as PS or Xbox equivalent controls
I used a PS5 controller for open beta on my PC with no issues
The controller works fine. Just the right analog stick does nothing. I’m surprise we don’t have a way to remap stuff to the right analog.
I’d imagine any controller really.
I use an Xbox controller for my PC games and it generally works flawlessly for games with native controller support. Others I have to finagle through Steam (like Guild Wars 2).
Unfortunately, PS controllers use DirectInput in wireless mode. Gotta plug them in. Plugged in, D2R was able to tell that it was a PS4 or PS5 controller. XInput wrappers are a pain. Also, PS5 controllers last about 5 hours on a full charge. My XBox controller seems to last forever on 2 AA batteries.
Xbox Elite Series 2 worked great.
Always wanted to get one of those, extra buttons in shooters seem like they would be super clutch, but I’ve heard they break often : /
only thing i missed was an option to bind the ps controllers touchpad. Making that the map would be perfection. Maybe they added it already, since they talked about improvements to the button layouts.
The paddles are super useful… especially for remapping the diagonal pad.
i use PS5 and it actually reflects the real buttons and not the usual lazy XBOX default that most devs just stick in there, automatically making ATVI gigabased (as its like this in all their titles). same with final fantasy games
I played with my PS3 controller wirelessly from my PC worked super great!
I used an XBOX controller on my Windows PC during the last two betas and it worked great!
My USB controlled compatible with PC, XBox One / Series X/S (not a Microsoft official device) worked fine.
I guess most if not all compatible controllers should work fine with Diablo IV.
I used a PS5 controller. I bought it specifically to play d4. It worked, but I had to keep it plugged in. I tried following any and all tips to get it to work wirelessly, and it wouldn’t. I did test it, without d4 running, and Windows was getting all of my input properly…but once the game would launch, wireless did nothing.
I bought a nice long USB extension cable though…so I guess that’s ok.
The on-screen mappings did show PS and not xbox mappings though (ie. L1, L2, Triangle, Circle, etc) so that was nice.
What’s a controller?
What’s a controller?
Gamepad (you know, the very modern version of the old Atari 2600 1 button Joystick).
I used both the XBOX Elite Series 2 controller as well as the Dual Sense Edge controllers and depending on which one is active and linked with your PC at the time, Diablo IV will know and change the button lettering in the game that goes to that controller.
