Iāve been alternating between summon Necro that I play solo and Barb that I play only with my wife. So far, my Necro has indeed felt like I needed to min/max to get it going. I actually cut Corpse Explosion from my build to go all in on summons. I just did the Capsule Dungeon solo last night at 61 where the enemies and boss are level 70. It feels good so far in WT4 but it requires so much more than me just putting on anything I find as WW barb and just mowing things down with ease. Summon Necro could certainly use some love. Takes way too much to get going, but Iām determined to stick with it for as long as I can.
Wait till you need some personal defenses as well.
There is a viable build. Seen a dude at 64 tier.
He was only level 98 though. So level difference wasnāt hurting him so much.
Thatās my biggest problem now. My skeles can handle things fine. I am the weak link now. You basically got to spec into life, armor, fortify, etc.
Yup and wait for a mob that doesnāt care about your minions.
There is a build for it, its just very stat dependent.
I wouldnāt recommend to a more casual player.
Thatās every mob. Iāve just been using stun and tendrils to keep them away. They really need to fix that. 13 minions and 5 enemies. Yet, one enemy somehow finds his way to me every time. Itās annoying.
I use golem taunt, doesnāt always work but it helps XD sadly need a spell for it though.
Iām not summoner necro but I tried building some minion hp and such. Didnāt do to much. Got to full send em, and have Medeln for good damage.
I have minions but for the very trash meat shields XD Mages for essence.
Using him mostly because Iām using him for the 15% damage taken to try and help one shots in higher tier nightmares.
That was the 2nd day upon release. 1.4k views better than my Ancestral Tier 21 Summoner video.

Sorry I dont get it. Im just level 71 and figuring out how to progress as a Summoner without Ring of Mendeln. Im farming ancestral tier 21 over and over for now. Im leveling up new Glyphs. Summoner Glyphs are useless without Ring of Mendeln.
Branching out to Bones Spear and Corpse Explosion while without the Summoner ring. It appears to be fun.
I was asking if you have tried to kill anything +10 your level. Because the issue start to arise when you character is under leveled.
Which come later tiers even at level 100, you will always be outscaled by at least 17.
And once you hit +17 all your defenses get a hugeeee nurf.
Play how you want, but donāt act as if its end game content summoner material. Thank you.

But I know with the tier 21 thatās not the case.
See my issues were in tier 40+.
Been on 50s for a day or two now trying to figure out how not to get one shot. Not going so well.
When I leveled though, I was able to go up a tier. Hmm.
Would help if we had more aspects dropping and such. Got a lot of items I would like to add, but literally canāt use them because I have no aspect. And rerolling fun times.

Minions need a flat aoe dmg resist so they are not getting wiped out by mobs / elites / bosses massive aoe attacks. Mages also do not hit very hard.
However im in t4 difficulty and im not really struggling that much. Some nightmare dungeons with tons of aoe mods do destroy my army often though. Thank god for our summoning ultimate I guessā¦
I think a few tweaks and we will be in a decent spot. Its not as bad as people are saying.
Not just that, because you have no control over there and you cant them move out of dangerous zones they also should be cc immun.
Another (probably more difficult) way would be to improve the AI so that the minions move independently out of dangerous zones.
I think this is enough, with high attack speed and 5-6 mages they do a lot of damage, what we see at bosses.
But it looks like the damage is calculated when it reaches the enemy and this did not always happen on teleporting and fast running elites.
But the biggest problem with the mages are enemies with bubbles.
Even if you go in the bubble with the necro, the mages stay outside.
Also Kalanās Edict is most of the time useless because in higher nm dungeons especially in harder fights with a lot of elites and small areas when you really need this passive you always lose the passive because of constantly taking damage.
