Summoner Necro Build continued that still uses reaper.?

So I’ve been following the summoner leveling guide, which uses Reap, Server, corpse tendrils, corpse explosion, and that’s it. Easy and fun to have a full blown army at my side sending out blades as my spam ability.

It’s been so much fun, but I’m 52 and I’m wanting to know what the best path for me to take is? I know sticking with this build is not a Meta End Game build, but it’s enjoyable. I don’t want a complex rotation with blood mist. I wanna use reaper and just have my corps explode. The paragon tree stresses me out because the guide ends at lvl 50 so I’m not sure the best route to take with my paragon board to get the most out of it.

Do you guys know of any guides that continue off of that guide or at least advise best paragon path? With using the exact same ability’s as the current guide?

I am building my necro on that same build and I am level 71 right now on WT4.

For the paragon board, I am using the one on Maxroll for the Shadow Summoner Necromancer Endgame Guide. I am not using the rest of the guide as I have not figured out how it can use 6 skills in the toolbar while keeping the summons up around.

If anybody knows about that, it would be great

I use Sever, Blight, BCE and tendrils+minions on my Eternal Necro as shadow/minions.

Generators as shadow are a trap, between corpse consumption returning essence with passives and cold mages that give essence on hit with 5 mages (shadow mages are absolutely rubbish in comparison to cold mages+blizzard aspect for them) you shouldn’t need to slot a generator in your build.

Blight is honestly a rotating skill based on what I feel like using at the time, it’s main purpose is to apply 15% extra damage for myself and minions as tendrils pulls in before Sever spam to clear while everything sits in BCE puddles.

Bloodless Scream, Howl from Below and Mendeln are uniques while I wait for Sever boots.

Aspects are coldbringer, extra mages, minion damage reduction and both shadowblight related aspects.
Using extra skeleton aspect as placeholder for when I can get the Sever unique boots.

Use Cult leader, Scent of death, Wither and Flesh eater boards in that order.

Skip skeleton and mage specific nodes in cult leader, ignore +resistance nodes along the way as they don’t work properly anyway across the other boards.

You should be able to get everything good from the first 3 boards. Flesh Eater you will get the legendary node+glyph as well as 1–2 other node clusters depending on where you place your start point on that board.

With regards to 6 skills+minions at once. They are showing you which skills they recommend in your toolkit and what works for their opinion on the build I would assume.

Couldn’t tell you exactly as I don’t look at random websites telling me how to build.
Part of the fun is trial and error to see what works and what doesn’t as you progress, little bit of preemptive planning on paragon boards goes a long way as well.

The tricky part is getting the secondary bonus from some of the nodes in Wither and Flesh Eater boards.

The genius who decided to make both Int/Wis based classes have so many of their paragon nodes have a dexterity requirement should definitely go inhale some more paint fumes

I read the build but I do not follow it as a religion. More like a first version that I can improve as I find items and see what I like and do not like.

My question on the 6 skills is just that right now, I have on my bar the following:

  • Reap
  • Sever
  • Skeletons
  • Golem
  • Tendril
  • Corpse Explosion

I mean, I am building around the Vicious heart to auto-summon things and cast CT/CE but it leaves me open to CC.

I just wish Skeletons and Golem would be one button instead of two there…

Thats why I use Bloodless Scream, it adds chill to all shadow damage so it’s a substantial extra layer of CC paired with tendrils+golem smash+cold mage blizzard.

Need to lock them down and kill them in whatever your kill sequence is before they can get past all the minions and swarm you or backpeddle and reset your sequence.
Open field dungeons etc will always be trickier as a minion necro but those hallway/cavern type places are your best friend as minions just clog the pathways up

I messed around with Bone Prison instead of Blight but without the aspect space to slot the blight bone prison aspect, I felt it was easier to just use 1-2 blights in my kill setup.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I get stomped due to ridiculous combo’s that is “randomly” given (90% suppressor is totally random right) but overall I don’t find myself saying “if I had more CC or better ways to avoid it, I wouldn’t of died there”

The random one shots has been and will always be my main nemesis in Diablo, somethings change from 1-4, but one shot from off the screen never goes away

If you want to be smart use iron maiden instead of reap for your generator and then put the shadow damage with 2x curse aspect that can give you up to a 100% shadow damage boost. With minions + reaper corpses and auto-CE you don’t need another generator, and iron maiden makes your essence infinite in dungeons except for the boss, on top of doing more damage
