As one of the founding Mothers (EA) BG3, doing bug hunts for them was a pleasure.
Additionally, I am bug hunting D4, because I want this game to be good, narrative-wise as BG3.
Now that probably won’t happen. Why? Because at least 50% of their people whom made Blizzard Storytelling amazing, left the company to form another, so now we have new people trying to scramble to make up for the veteran storytellers whom left. On top of that, they have the Execs breathing down their necks trying to put out a quality product out from newbie storytellers (I don’t envy you all try hard), with regular bug fixes and updates from a QA Dept. whom are known for not being all that good at QA.
So no, curiously enough, our amazing Larian BG3 storytelling might not be here, but I would like to hope the new storytelling devs can play BG3, and get some intel on better storytelling. As far as I am concerned, the Xpac right now is totes nice. Environment, and storytelling is good. (In the voice of the upgrade merchant “Could be Better”) However we get what we get.
Oh! Here is a novel idea.
How about you Blizz devs try this out!
ASK what we would like to see in the next expansion.
We already have Hate running rapid, and this will go on for some time. Expectantly.
We all expect to see Diablo show His/Her self (I’m cheering for Her, because in D3 ‘she’ (origin body possessed) was much more interesting, both verbally an internally, than a Male Diablo in the previous games.
So hopefully you capitalize on that ‘she’ bit for Diablo, since the name in not gender specific.
Lastly:
Make a ‘Suggestions and Feedback’ Forum.
BG3 Did, and we were able to focus all our efforts on that forum to making the game better.
LISTEN to us when we post on aforementioned forum.
Sure, Larian did not implement all our wants but they did listen, acknowledge and implement most of them. I’m telling you, if you want to sell like hotcakes, listen to us. Especially those whom not only bug hunt, are legacy, but also give useful commentary to your game.
