Suggestion - Town Portal - fixed location selection

I dont think this could possibly negatively affect anything, and only be a good change, but i might be wrong.

I think it would be nice, if you could select a town as your town portals preferred choice. For eg: i always find myself going back to kyvoshad, and would just prefer to always auto portal to that town. Its just a little teeny tiny thing, dont expect it to change. None the less, it would be a great change to me.

i have asked for this since i started in closed beta, I lost count of how many others have asked but of my 2,000+ likes at least 500 of them were liking my request to set our ā€œTā€ to whatever way point we want.

I’ve wanted this since D3. I wanted to make my home town the compact desert one. Likewise I want to make my home town Kyovashad in D4. This would be such a simple and easy feature to implement but they won’t for some reason.

This is something I find myself wanting often.
My habit now is pressing ā€œTā€, ā€œam I going to Cerrigar?ā€ ā€œOh I’m notā€¦ā€ esc and map.

A better option would be make housing. Then have all the vendors in that housing. Our private portal would then takes us to that house with all the vendors.

The chance to get a TP shortcut on the wheel to a location of our choice i as high as rogues getting a single unique crossbow.

Could you add Diablo to the game first?

I believe (from screeenshots of Expansion playing) we’re getting the ability to Favorite portal locations with the Expansion so that should do the job for you.
We’ll see if Blizzard confirms this on 8/20 when they show case more of the expansion.

This one comes up a lot so who knows it might get implemented. I think it’s one of those issues that’s low on the backlog though as it’s not the most pressing issue but yea like you said there really isn’t a negative side to it.

but that is of zero importance

Hopefully more important than having a house for my character.

To be fair, i would much rather play a diablo game with no diablo, that keeps the ambient theme / environment, lore, and general feel of the original diablo games, then say … D3. So far, this game has delivered, imo.

And, in saying, i actually dont mind D3, but it sure had some ā€˜bad’ (unexpected) twists from art style, to butterflies…

+1000000000000000000000000 good idea

This is even more needed after season 4 since you can only access the pit from one town

I would also add that if you pick a location to port to and get interrupted that the town portal button takes you to that location.

This is mainly to stop:

Oh I finished whisper in hell tides
Open map, scroll to tree, start porting
Interrupted
Kill mob
Open map, scroll to tree, start porting

Kill mob
Open map, scroll to tree, start porting

Large mass of exploding guys spawns on you
Dead

Would rather have QoL features we’ve been asking for since launch then some drunkard who has grand illusions of taking over the world, especially when they have failed to do so three separate times that we know of.

I didn’t know everyone was asking for a house for their characters since launch. Ok well if a house is more important then the game actually living up to it’s namesake then who am I to argue?

Not sure how you got a ā€˜house’ out of a fixed location for a town portal, but if that was your literal interpretation of a QoL feature, then sure by all means call it a ā€˜house’ portal. Doesn’t matter to me what you call it, it would be a nice QoL feature regardless.
Edit: Wrong context, ignore that, apologies.

The fact Diablo isn’t in the game has little to no relevance other then the fact his name is the title of the game. Given the franchises history and how little importance he actually plays in the grand scheme of things, I don’t see it as that big of a deal. Now things that make my life easier in a video game, to me personally, are a bigger deal. Not that I expect them mind you, just saying they would be nice.

Fair enough I concede the part about the house, we all don’t want that. Leave that crap in PoE.
