Movement speed is a basic quality-of-life feature, not a unique class perk. Sorcerers with Teleport can outpace mounts, while classes like Necromancer still feel slow even at 200%. Raising base movement speed to 200% would make gameplay smoother and more enjoyable for every class, without affecting balance.
At level 79 pits, Sorcerers can clear runs in about 1 minute, while other classes take 2–2.5 minutes. It’s not about damage — just mobility. A small increase in base movement speed would make farming more enjoyable for everyone.
I feel like you also have to simultaneously take away any movement speed gained from affixes on gear as well, if you were planning to do this.
At some point, you move so fast you can’t control it. The advantage of teleport, besides distance traveled, is in control.
The “Move speed as Werewolf”, Move speed while berserking, move with agility skills, all of those mods do not work in town. In many cases, each class relies of these to hit the 200% move speed and town travel is just annoyingly painful.
100% agree.
Yes… But movespeed? I think u want a arcade game. Not a arpg.
Gosh… Jesus! D4 has softened too much and people still want more!
What does this mean? How would higher movement speed make coin/card-operated D4 machines exist? You’re not making any sense.
200% is not big enough, we should make it 20000%. I don’t want to see my character just zip trails.
In town you can use your mount. Not really a cohesive argument.
New characters are not limited to slow speeds for very long. I have yet to find a class I could not get decent movement speed once better gear is available.
There are far FAR more important issues that addressed before basic impatience is even considered.
My necro minion has 250% speed…yeah its capped at 200. I do not need my mount when i am this maxed out. You dont need base 200 speed…get your gear to help you boost that along with anything on your paragon that may help. All classes can get to 200. Question is, why are you complaining about class imbalance about movement speed?
One of the worst parts of starting seasonal characters is the slug movement speed.
Yeah, it’s a drag, but for what it’s worth, what kind of game D 4 is (and always has been), starting out level 1 is always the hardest part typically. I don’t mind the speed. I don’t need/want to be zipping from here to there at the very start.
I feel that’s making the game too easy/convenient.
1 must grind/loot hunt their gear if they want to move faster, not having it as a Base speed.
I do feel this fall under an Arcade type feel, similar to those who want to BLAST EVERYTHING as soon as possible.
Lets go * CHarges Ki*
SUPER SAIYAN 52!
It’s not about making D4 an arcade game — just a small QoL tweak so every class feels smoother to play.
If 200% already feels like 20000% to you, maybe that says more about how slow the game currently is .
All characters should have 200% MS in friendly zones.
