Reminds me of Divinity: Original Sin 2, where so much of the world can be lost due to camera limits (there is a mod for this btw). I hope that photo mode is either added or mod-supported, the game is too beautiful to not have it.

If it’s like most fixed-view isometric games, it looks very strange and unnatural when viewed from other angles.
It only works if a game is made for it.
IE: Having a static camera means you can use backface culling on all walls and other objects NOT facing the camera. This saves on resources and GPU loads, because less objects & textures are being rendered. Essentially, the sides not facing the camera literally don’t exist. A rock or a wall facing the camera is invisible from the back because we’re not meant to see that side of it.
Conversely; having an unlocked camera means all objects need to be rendered on all sides. This increases GPU loads.
Also with this is, with a ‘photo mode’; a skybox needs to be rendered, or you get blurry/smeary textures in the unrendered void where a skybox would be.
So…Unless D4 is made with 360 view or photo mode in mind; it probably won’t happen, as it would require re-modeling any objects using backface culling, and creating a skybox they may not have.

There are certain places where you can interact with a rune on the ground and it zooms out to show the environment, focusing on a distant point. Very cinematic. Gives the players a second to appreciate the artist’s work.
But like others have said, isometric designs usually involved distorted dimensions of models to make the angle work, and a free camera mode may or may not work.
