Hi Blizzard Team,
First off, I want to say how much I’m enjoying Diablo IV Season 4. The improvements you’ve made are fantastic. The loot feels more balanced, and the new tempering and masterworking systems are exciting additions. The need to farm gold is reasonable and adds a nice layer of challenge without feeling overwhelming. However, while the random chance to brick an item adds tension, it can detract from the overall fun—after all, fun is what we’re all here for, right?
One feature I’ve always wanted to see in Diablo IV is the ability to save builds. Currently, we can save our character’s appearance, but not the intricate builds we spend so much time perfecting. When I finally finish a build and want to try something new, I have to overwrite my current setup. While I can stash gear, resetting skill and paragon points is a tedious process.
Imagine if we could save our builds as a set of data on our accounts. This “build” object could store our gear (including all upgrades, modifications, gems, and aspects), skill points, action bar skills, paragon points, board placements, orientations, glyphs, and their levels. The ability to save and switch between different playstyles would be invaluable.
Here’s an idea to enhance this concept even further: introducing achievements tied to saving and mastering multiple builds. For example, an achievement called “Ultimate” could require players to save five different builds and achieve level 100 Nightmare on each. To ensure variety, each build could require different core abilities. This would add a new layer of fun and depth, encouraging players to explore the full potential of their classes each season.
To address implementation concerns, I propose a lower-effort solution that I believe would be well-received by your project managers: once a player reaches level 100 and beats a level 100 Nightmare dungeon, they could unlock the ability to create new characters of the same class starting at level 100 with all points reset. Since the stash is shared, players could effectively use these new characters to experiment with different builds without losing progress on their original ones. These characters would transfer to the Eternal Realm at the end of the season, maintaining continuity and progression.
This feature would greatly enhance the gameplay experience by allowing more flexibility and reducing the barriers to trying new builds. It would encourage players to engage more deeply with the game and explore different strategies without the frustration of starting from scratch.
What do you think, Blizzard? I believe this addition could significantly improve the player experience and help Diablo IV continue to thrive.
Thank you for considering my suggestion!

Update:
#BlizzPlease
The following experience really sucks.
- I make a new character
- I level and gear said character until they have full masterworking and have made it all the way up to Pit 120+ (this part feels great, thank you for better end-game)
- I get a bit bored with the build and want a different play style
- I find a new build that looks pretty fun
- I spend a ton of time resetting all my skill and paragon points, cobbling together the right stats and gear and still even have all the masterworking and etc. done
- I go into pit 120+, whatever I was doing before, and I get one-shotted, over and over
Basically, it feels like I spent hours re-building my character to have more fun, and I just ended up nerfing myself.
My options at this point are:
- deal with it and try not to feel like i just lost a lot of progress i earned
- spec myself back to the way i was before where i was bored but powerful
- move on and make a new character and try to forget …
It really really sucks.
Blizz … if you’re trying to address end game … please … please fix this.
If i could have multiple builds on a character, I would level them all up as high as they could go. Even if I only had one that could do Pit 120+ I would be able to have fun with the playstyles of all the others while still not losing my ability to do the higher content when i want to.
Please help.
It’s so frustrating.
your forever fan,
