I start a ladder season with a key farmer or torch farmer (build) in mind. Then I make that and trade keys and torches. so simple, so fun. One idea cant solve every problem ( and I know lots of thought is going into “saving D4”) I just thought it was worth mentioning. lately I’ve been struck by the idea that people share ideas and opinions when they really don’t understand as much as they think. hubris.
So with that in mind I bring y’all my idea. I don’t clam to understand much but I understand this specific end game activity. Yes the market would get flooded in SC more than HC but that’s one more reason to love HC. thank you.
Now you’re getting it. Yes, basically, you could equate Torches to Mythics. Fundamentally speaking the mechanic is there, the execution may be slightly different, but it’s the same thing. Kill a big bad for a chance at some good loot.
Harlequin crest is sorta like a torch? Now you’re definitively not getting it but I’m not sure you come here to be understanding in the first place Izzi.
A torch in D2 is rare only due to the fact the keys are rare. Now getting a 20/20 is rare. However my point still stands. The mechanic is identical to Lair Bosses. While the boss keys in Diabo 4 aren’t rare, the Mythic items are. You’re taking the keys required for Torches versus the Mythics. That’s the point.
Fundamentally there is no difference between killing Uber Diablo and Killing a Lair Boss, just takes you longer to actually fight Uber Diablo due to needing the keys to do so. You kill Uber Diablo or a Lair Boss, you get loot, it’s that simple. Now if you’re talking about ‘Charms’ and the itemization behind that, that’s a whole other mechanic entirely.
Everyone made it up for themselves, but in reality, it just shows that the amount of end game content doesn’t matter in ARPGs as long as the game is good.
And if we take D4, it shows that if the core of the game is bad, it won’t matter if there are 200 different end game options, the game will still be bad.
For some reason, most people don’t understand this.
Well then ill just go make up 200 end game contents? “good” is the operative word here i think.
Even D2 has problems, hence my comment about one idea not solving every issue. Anyway thank you for the kind but differing option and comment Scrscrscr.
