Why isn’t anyone talking about this? Plenty of people complaining about it chat. I’ve followed the recommended steps for resolving this and he still leaves and goes back to the Den. Also I think he had Raheir are sick of being used for every single build. I’m using the wild lady and the goat kid from here on out.

This was happening on my minion necro. What fixed it was setting the reinforcement to engage when you cast a specific skill.
They really need a dedicated test team and people that can code something other than a cash shop and battlepass.

I just say he needed a break so he left. Just go hire him again. Sheesh. Talk about someone not wanting to do a little work.

He is the main mercenary, though
I never had this one either, all mine have had Reinforce set to on attack. Cold Necro with magi, Warlock with demon command.. not once have I lost my hires. Maybe our posters who are losing them, aren’t paying them enough to stay? 
Don’t give Blizz any ideas. Paying gold for he hires lol.
He is getting tried from having to mark everything on the map for lazy players. So, he runs off for some “me time.”

Yes, but the setting for the reinforcement is causing the main to drop on certain characters/builds.

I have every class, sometimes two or more- not once, I repeat.. not once has a Hired Merc just vanished. Not once and I have always set my Reinforcement to cast when I attack. I’ve been here since beta. Sure my pets vanish in campaign on occasion which tends to mean relog, my Shadow Necro had her skeletons vanish on logging out before that got patched… but not once have I seen my hires vanish. The fact you see this lone thread should say how much an oddball outlier the issue is. It is an issue for the ones here in the thread and needs looking at but the 99% of us never seeing it is likely why it’ll be lower in priority for fixes
It does not happen to everyone but it is far from oddball outlier. The bug report section is full of these reports.
It is an easy workaround which leads me to believe it is something the player chooses in either skill, paragon, aspects or gear that affect it.
As far as priority goes we have all seen bugs that should have been immediately addressed that were ignored so that point goes nowhere.
The bigger picture here is things like this should work and be addressed when they don’t. i guarantee you if there was a glitch with cash shop or battlepass it would be fixed within minutes.
I say: Let them all run away. Nobody needs Mercs.
