Stygian Stones pit 101 drop rate

I literally ran 300 duriel last season without an uber drop.

So far I have run 70 T100’s and about 20 T200’s (equivalent to 100 T100’s) and got only 1.

stated, my documented for 105 runs is roughly 4%…its so bad

Kind of cute. I ran some uber Grig yesterday with a clan mate. Got 2 ubers in the first 2 runs…silly I know

It is a penalty for you to play this game in a group or with your friends. I was in the same situation, I just need some mat for masterwork, then I realized that I only got half of the mat when I was not the one to open it, although I am the one carrying them in those Pit runs.

Yeah, this is like me. I farm the mats, I take my guildies with me, they get ubers–> I absolutely do not. I had to work up multiple characters this season so I could farm enough sparks to make my own shako just so I could have one for once.

Not having much problem with the stygian stones farming 85-90 BUT I don’t turn the tormented bosses all that often so I guess it looks easy for me but to someone who runs them whenever they can, the drop rate could look low. Plus you know… RNG… back to that beast that NEVER drops an Uber for me.

Excuse me… we’re calling them “mythics” now? I can’t keep up with the kiddos!

That’s rough luck, I had a few bad luck streaks in s3. But this season I’m drowning in ubers/mythicals. Rng can be painful sometimes

Indeed! I’m “smurt” enough to know that RNG is RNG so I accept that mine always sucks so far but hey… maybe… just maybe, someday, I’ll get a mythic to drop?

In the meantime, at least there is a system in place to make you farm multiple characters/etc to get ONE if you just REALLY want one. That at least let me try a shako for once.

I’m fine with RNG in this kind of way “drops”, even if I usually don’t luck out. Master working though, etc–> I’m a bit more irate about. Oh well. So far, no game has ever rushed to call me or knock on my door to ask me how I want them to enhance their game to cater to just me.

What up with that?!

I was effectively wrong. I found the numbers in one of the patch notes. Drop rate scales in a linear way with Pit level and is indeed 18% at Pit 100. I thought I was more or less getting the average drop rate but I am way below it so far. It is RNG controlled and the next runs might be very productive. They might also not be and just increase frustration.

The game is all about RNG and I accept that (even for tempering). Just like anyone I did >100 consecutive Duriel runs during previous season without getting any Uber. That’s how the game works.

However, doing game activities, especially the ones of the news season, should not rely on RNG. I can spend time collecting mats but the time I invest must be meaningful. With RNG it is not always and I think this is bad design.

For each Pit runs, we should be getting Stygian stone pieces. The higher the Pit level, the higher the quantity. It just makes each Pit run meaningful. The drop rates could remain as they are but no RNG involved. For a bit off RNG, a complete stone could drop from time to time with a very low probability.

Wudijo just did a video on how badly the Occultist rerolls are weighted so it’s a big assumption to make that nothing else in the game is weighted as well.
Roulette and craps are rng too, still doesn’t mean they are fair.

So if I wanted to divide my drop sets:

First 500 = 10%.
Last 200 (atually it’s 150) = 24%

So yeah, rng, looks like my data is normalizing over a bigger sets.

Same here. Ive been doing Pit 101+ over the last week (probably 125+ pits) and world bosses when I notice and I have received 1 single Stygian Stone. This is what kills the end game. Kill Uber bosses to get Uber loot, but we wont give you the mats to actually summon the Uber bosses. Stupid.

Played few hours today, probably 30-40 runs at tier 101, zero stones. Something is broken. Doesn’t feel like 18% drop rate.

5 stones out 25 runs in 101
48 stones out of 246 runs in 101
111 stones out of 620 runs in 101
38 stones out of 114 run in 101
56 stones out of 380 runs in 101
258/1385=18.6% drop rate

These were all the pits recorded after the drop rate buff as I dont play that much any more. The average drop rate for our group is 1 in 5 or 6 pit, which averages roughly 18%. Stygian stone only drop for opener if in group.

I was pretty suprised at 18.6% as my team mates average 17.1% -17.9% spread. But all my 2-3 GA items are bricked and they arent. I guess some compensations??? Idk.

Par for the course… they get a good idea for QoL and then screw the pooch all over it. They may as well not even have tormented versions of varshan/grigoire/beast/zir… the stones are too scarce to waste on lesser drop tables.

Access to game content should not depend on RNG. There is already enough. All the summoning mats in the games have guaranteed sources, all except Stygian Stones.

Farming mats is boring but I have learned to accept it. I spend time but always get sometimes in return. With the stones, I suffer doing 15 or 20 Pit runs and sometimes don’t even get a single stone.

Today I did 50 Pit 91 runs and got 5 stones. It took me close to 4 hours. I received the first one after 17 runs. Not a single stone between run 22 and 48. Yes, the I got a stone at runs 49 and 50. Would have ended with only 3 if I had stopped at 48 runs. This is not acceptable.

Just make each Pit run count and give us a guaranteed amount of stone fragments corresponding to Pit level drop rate. RNG is fine for a bonus stone from time to time with a much lower drop rate.

Or make them 1 stone to summon

Not quite true. While Wispers give material for Varshan, its not guarenteed which ones. I have 28 each of Heads, Bones and Hands, but zero Hearts.
