Can the stones only drop when you open the pit?? done about 75 pit 101’s over the last couple days and not seen a single stone drop… Unlucky or?

I only got one stone in the last two days but then again I haven’t been farming as much because it’s been so consistently pointless.

I ran about 15 today and got 4.
Solo a bunch of 91 pits. They drop a lot for me on that level. I do 91 because it’s quick (sub 3 mins or so) and the drop is an even 50 for mats.

Been running mostly 101’s all day. Getting nothing. Why in the hell do they have to be so stingy anyway? Little over a month left in the season - is it a problem if someone might get an uber they can play with? Geez this company…

I get ubers every season but never early and getting anything this late I would feel like it’s mostly wasted.
I have 5 characters farming from 79 to 99 and in my experience in each of them is … every 3 runs you get 1 Stone … doesnt matter if is 79 or 99 .
Yes , im back to the game , 1.4.3 made me feel again like i can play as i want , lots of specs that can do decent levels , just my roleplay style . I dont even want a OP broken spec at all , i have my shadow minion necro since almost 1 year ago .
They even added a lot of emotes for this Diablo …
The spec differences are still huge , specially in pushing , but i can feel ok farming 79s in my -D chars that i find FUN to play .
If I am not mistaken, the max drop rate (from Pit 101) is 8%, around one every 12 runs. If some are experiencing sometimes a drop rate of 33%, probably others can have periods at 2% which means 50 runs with none. Will improve but is nonetheless frustrating.
Thats my case , as i said im getting one of those every 3 runs , and doesnt matter if is 79 or 99 .I just do in different characters tho .
By playing 3 runs on different characters from 79 to 99 im gettin one of those .
Im even surprised i have lots of them in my seasonal characters .
I finally can solo Tormented Duriel in my seasonal rogue and sorc but before that i did lots of runs with dumb current meta wash barbarians with me putting the mats in the table .
I documented my runs last weekend and this whole week so far.
I have done 445 runs of 105 and I got 15 stones…
That’s 3.37%, even lower than my previous 3.67% at 300 runs 11 stones.
I don’t know how print keep saying it’s close to 10 or even 20%, this is clearly not just RNG with this many runs, there’s something wrong…
If anyone is also logging their run please share your data, I’d like to see the average other than my own.

Just so everyone knows, there’s been long runs 20-30+ runs with no stones at 101.
Larger data sets are showing 10% drop rates for some people, I have 10% myself for 101.
There are thoughts the drop rate may be bugged potentially like the beneathiron drops are 1 every 2 levels, so something changes.
Those running 101, might want to go to 90 or 99/100 might see different results.

I didn’t keep an exact count of the runs I made but probably around a 100 those last days. I am farming at Pit 80s. Not safe/fast enough for me to try higher. I managed to get 9 which is consistent with what I believe is the drop rate. But, got 7 in one day, 1 or none the others days.
Are you playing in a group? They only drop for the person paying the shards.
OMG dude just shut up… U didn’t do 400 runs with 15 stones… Like… this other guy who says he gets a stone every 3 runs or so… That’s pretty much what I experience. Ok 445 runs is like, 22.25 hours. So yeah man… I totally believe you did that much in a single sitting and walked away with 15 stones…
That’s being generous saying your doing 3min flat runs
I get like 15 stones every 2 hours. I just sell the dumb things

I do 3 minute runs at 101 lvl pit with a barb alt, who has zero 2 or 3 ga items and had zero items mastercraft rank 12.
It isnt hard to believe people are running pit lvl 120 sub 2 minutes. So yea, if someone actually played 5-6 hours in a day, they would get a decent data set
for 101’s I have multiple 20 runs with no stones, and 2 runs at 30+ (one ending at 33 and other ending at 34).
However, there are times when I have had 4 drops in 10, but overall I’m at 10% for 101’s.
This is not statistically significant as I don’t have enough runs to be a standard division out if the curve is standard bayesian.
There is someone else who also had 400+ runs with 10% drop rate.
Probably warrants a check just to make sure but again 10% from 18% isn’t that big of a difference with our runs (easily within RNG), granted if have like 10k or 20k runs, it will be statistically significant.
Ya the whole damn point is they could increase the drop rate some. How would that hurt the game?
105 is easily doable within 1.5-2m if you run WW barb if you didnt know that

Yeah I get 101’s at 1:45 to 2 minutes usually - depending on the RNG on the map and how bad I backtrack / boss rng.
I haven’t really moved it up because lack of reward per level and around 105, the guardians take a bit longer to do for me, not worth the 2 beneathiron.
