Who thought dropping a SWORD on player instantly killing them was A GOOD IDEA - PC General Discussion - Diablo IV Forums Well I stopped playing as it seemingly ignores all resists, no matter how much max life, it one shots. Well I had come to play with friends found it had been fixed only to have been turned backl again this last patch, It is Assinine!
It does not ignore resists or damage reduction.
You just don’t have enough defense for whatever you’re trying to endure.
There’s already a topic discussing this - in fact you linked it. No reason to create another.
I was literally about to say exactly this.
eh i will say this is probably my least favorite thing in the game. especially early game, the fact that it chases you so far makes it quite annoying. and later game it can be tough to see through all the other BS effects flying off everywhere.
still perfectly manageable though, but if they removed it tomorrow I think the game would be in a better state.
Not true, I can safely eat 2 without dying on T12 before needing to pot.
I die more to earthquakes, they can be hard to see when spawned under you.
On another slightly related note… Did the Vile Lunatics get mega-nerfed this season? They seem to do less damage and move very slow.
Can’t find any patch notes.
They were my bane last season, but that could also be because I was playing a Lunatic Warlock, and they could be had to differentiate in the chaos.
Almost all of the enemy effects are area denial that deal damage without being telegraphed immediately or follow you around and have a brief delay before they deal damage. The fact they are so prolific with so many enemies and player effects going off means you cannot and do not even pay attention but just run in circles non-stop and pop whatever defensives you have and Pot spam if something does not kill you outright or deals damage over time.
Have you tried moving away from it?
Err, he’s just a Rock… and a Shorty one… ![]()
Rocks don’t move…

load of BS. It’s a 1 shot mechanic irrespective of res, DR and health.
Ignore the shills. They’ll die defending Blizzard’s crappy game design.
If you do not have high enough resists, damage reduction or HP to survive, yes, you die in one hit. It is however not a one-shot mechanic. The only characters with 1 shot-mechanics in this game are Lilith and Mephisto which will kill you regardless of your defensive capabilities if you get hit.
1 shot mechanic for me, every character. Irrespective of toughness etc.
The problem is that it isn’t irrespective over time. In seasons where you can get silly amounts of DR it stops being effective at killing players. This fact by example proves that it is not a 1-shot mechanic.
IT Is not true .if you try Lilith in lower tiers you can see that IT Is not one shot ,just scaling dmg .And many players tank mephisto with selig .if mephisto has one shot mechanic ,IT can’t be possible to tank with anything. I Did a lot of tests And my full defensive barb can tank T12 even without endurant faith . But you really need good defensive gear . People think that one def aspect And some max life GA Is defensive gear . But they Are far from reality .
You fake it out like you’re having a boxing match with it. “I’m stopping here. Jk I wasn’t stopping there.”
I thought if the ground broke out from under you in Lilith you died. Maybe I am wrong on that.
But Mephisto! So be it. I didn’t know it was actually endurable.
Stop playing T12 with T1 gear…
LtP
Maybe this mechanic yes ,i even didnt try yet .but never seen that someone was hit like that
Ha, yeah it’s 2nd phase, and it’s probably the only thing that can catch you once. I don’t think anyone falls for it twice.
