Stuck between shred and pulverize

stuck between shred and pulverize at lvl 51…whats are the pros and cons of each. what do people use more

I’m currently running lightning shred without tempest roar. The damage is extremely high, and ramps to the point that you’re blinking across the screen and one shotting everything. The build is squishy though, relies on grizzly rage, and suffers from a lack of resource generation until you’re about level 70 and have invested in the proper paragon nodes (they completely solve the spirit issue).

My recommendation is to run pulverize until you get one of the unique helmet drops. Vasily’s Prayer: keep running pulverize. Tempest Roar: switch to one of the many viable werewolf builds. I recommend this because the lightning shred build can be very rough if you don’t have every single aspect for it as well as those paragon points for spirit generation.

ty i am enjoying pulverize but wanted to see what people say in case i missing something

Unfortunately, Pulverize is the only gear independent build available to druids because of how badly Blizzard did the Codex of Power.

Pulverize has the line aoe, the turning Pulverize into earth skill with a shockwave aoe aftereffect, the poison creeper landslide aoe aspects all in the codex of power, so you can run hurricane+pulverize+creeper and apply the prerequisite CC+poison+vulnerability all in a large aoe to trigger your CC conditional damage amps while Pulverize has a very large area of effect and one of your more spammable core skills.

You pair that with the keystone passive that turns 30% of your earth/wind spells into a proc of an equivalent opposite school spell, and spamming Pulverize you’ll trigger a lot of lightning storms and tornadoes on top of your pulverize line aoe while your hurricane and bulwark casts will also trigger a good amount of effects. Since pulverize is an earth skill, it will also trigger the fortify and other earth skill passive talent node effects and benefit from the guaranteed overpowers on kill counts, etc.

If you try the tornado or werewolf builds without the combination of aspects required to make them work, many of which are not in the codex of power, and you will have severely decreased performance.

Pretty much that. I’m not a fan of it but when you first enter in NM dungeon, this is the build to go in season 1. Poison creeper and landslide falls off in the mid 40’s and shred, nado, lit storm need tons of paragon, stats and well rolled aspect to kicks in again.

But if you do anjoy pulv, you can easely roll it from your id 40’s and keep it all the way up to lvl 100 and use it as your end game build.
