Hella toxic affix. It REGULARLY sits idle in the WORST POSSIBLE PLACES.
Either make it appear and charge every ~30s like the lightning nova or GET IT THE HELL OUT OF THE GAME!
Edit: Just had a dungeon with a cursed shrine, cursed chest and butcher. That stupid thing just sat on BOTH objectives and harassed the crap out of me during the butcher.
You people need to hire some people THAT ACTUALLY PLAY VIDEO GAMES AND KNOW WHAT IS AN ENJOYABLE CHALLENGE AND NOT JUST TOXICLY ANNOYING!
I was able to get it locked behind some pillars and doors in a dungeon last night when I had some bubbled elites stacked up. I did shred the rest of the sigils with that stupid affix afterwards tho. Not a good affix for melee leveling imo.
Stormbane / lightning storm / drifting shade … i always salvage these. Not that it’s impossible to play through, but it’s just plain annoyance / boring stuff. also preventing you to afk in a corner in the dungeon if you want to take a piss (eh yea that happens) … you have to teleport for that.
Get rid of any mechanic that acts as a gatekeeper its bad enough to have to backtrack a dungeon but to literally run back to a buddle or away from a pile of poo or a floating pulsating electric turd is asinine.
Typical NM sigil craft is 1 in 5 is usable, as in it is not lightening storm, storm bane, or drifting shade. Start crafting higher level NM, and easily run out of dust. Then Whispering trees can drop sigils in 20s when you are clearing NM 100s.
Aint that the truth I’m running 70-80 and just turned in a whisper quest dropped me a 21 Dom’s tunnel, wtf.
Dont think anyone likes these things that chase players through the whole dungeon. Just annoying and not fun.

The fire out of the floor is also instant salvage. That’s the one that killed me most often because floor clutter + watching mob abilities meant I wasn’t focussing on the floor.
drifting shade = instant salvage.
I consider it a lesser evil. I have been Butcher hooked and Tempest pulled into a shocking death though. Was kind of mad. Leave it in tbh.

Its not rage its an annoyance like backtracking in a dungeon even the devs acknowledged it was a bad mechanic.
Let’s just take all the challenge out and make all the mobs die from basic skills. Dungeon should just be a 10 foot corridor with 5 mobs that give all the loot. Game is so boring! Let’s make it more boring!
I get the resource burn one, but an aoe circle that you need to avoid? Nah. It’s fine.
I can’t even run NM dungeons at this point because I don’t have any sigils. I delete so many with terrible affixes that I can’t even create another one.
Why can’t you just create them and why do you need a currency to play a basic part of the game. I swear this dev team is absolutely tone-deaf when it comes to creating a fun game that you actually want to play.

You think the only acceptable means of creating a challenge is to gatekeep progression with a mechanic solely design to stop combat? Is there a brain controlling those fingers?
Honestly I’d say it means it’s not working as designed. While, yes, you could easily take it as people not being willing to do something challenging, I’d say based on how most people here are calling them instant salvage keys, that means the affixes are too annoying / tedious / lopsidedly difficult to do.
There’s challenging, and then there’s unfun. If something is not fun, people are not going to be inclined to do it. You can have something that is challenging and fun, but seems to me that a lot of the challenging things in D4, and not just NM dungeon affixes, are done in a way that makes them not fun.
The resource burn actually stopped combat. The storm bane just needs to be avoided. There is no stopping of combat, just don’t stand in it. Pretty straight forward. What are you even going on about gatekeeping progression? lawl. get gud
The predator title was removed so surely they should also have to remove stormbane, lightning storm and drifting shadow because they display stalker like behaviour.
These affixes are terrible as it makes you town portal to go take a pee!
