I love playing druid stormclaw build but the damage is lacking. Why don’t you put a line on the Greatstaff that will give basic attac’s 10%x damage per stack and let stacks build up with cap being like 1% per 1 willpower you have (something like the ring Airidah’s Inexorable Will) it would give alot of dmg without actualy owerbuffing or destroying every other gameplay that there is for druids and would open up alot of new builds (mostly for wearwolf).
That would require them to put time and resources into Druid, which at this point we’re lucky the class even exists.
If it is only the Greatstuff that need to be fixed to play Stormclaw I would be happy. I would like it to see that the druids gets love. But at the actual situation, every class need a lot of love… Ask the whirlwind barb. He can tell you more about this
WW Barb here. You’re correct. We need love too. But so do you, my Druid friends. Hope the devs will help us all out. But I am doubtful. Think they’re busy counting their $$ from selling the spiritborn expansion
Yeah i had so much fun in that one season where it did okay dmg. Now i have tried Tornado and Boulder both were viable in t4 helltide but the damage on bosses wasnt there , even some hellborn was hard to kill. I just had to give up on him. Couldnt keep up with my Sb clanmates.
I hear you, really I do…
But I’d honestly rather they just get rid of GSotC altogether and buff / rework Werewolf abilities to a place where they are actually functional without the need to be carried by a specific item. THEN… reintroduce uniques like GSotC with them reworked to account for said changes to the base abilities.
For example… Why does the Crone only affect Claw? It’s so limiting on a class that has a fundamentally versatile design philosophy. I personally think that they try to shove the same Unique Item designs that other classes do well with onto the Druid class, and they just don’t really work well. Because the druid by design is not so simple; it’s not just CLAW (for example).
Just my two cents. But, I feel there is too much all over the place for Druid and the Werewolf in general needs to be worked on before buffing/nerfing/changing any of the uniques/aspects for any of the builds.
they gona buff Staff with another 50% for next season still gona be usless , but hey least its a DRUID BUFF right
that item needs orders of magnitude of damage multiplication to be viable. In season 4 and 5 i was able to make a stormclaw build that could do all content. This is season no matter what you do this builds caps at torment 3. With extreme min max and some mythics you could push it to t4 but it will be so inneficient that it would be practically worthless.
For starters they need to fix adaptability aspect which doesn’t work. We also need passives and aspects that give more multipliers to basic skills (besides moonrise and adapt). They also need to rework the functionality of storm strike which makes it deal less damage each time it jumps (chain) from enemy to enemy. They could add that to the effect of the cron staff, something like “Claw is now also a Storm Skill and also casts Storm Strike at [170 - 250]% normal damage. Storm strike now deals 20(x) increased damage each time it chains”
They could also add some glyphs and legendary nodes in the paragon for basic skill damage multiplication.
Another thing they should do is raise the cap for thunderstruck and earthen devastation which will also benefit all storm/earth builds also.
Finally they need to increase the base damage to basic skills, give them the same treatment the core skills got the past season, just an example landslide got it’s total damage increased from 70% to 280%
i made a post on here last season after they changed it to allow Druids to use sword and introduced Shard. GotC needs to be moved to a totem to allow the synergy between the 2 uniques.
i guess they wanted to save the unique totem slot for the new trash skill tho lol
Or better yet, allow Cronestaff builds the ability to use a offhand weapon only while equipping Cronestaff.
I’m playing stormclaw and ALL of you are correct. The staff isn’t the only issue but it is a big one. I hope blizz looks at it and really gives it some thought on how to make it great.
Imho: the class needs more basic skill juice/support. I never see pure: maul, claw, stormstrike, or even earthspike. Wind shear has its place but isn’t optimal really either.
