Storage a reoccuring issue

Some thoughts about the issue that many of us seem to have.

After a week or two in to each season most of us are starting pay attention to that we’re running out space in our storages.

Some of you may have tried out new world when it came out (wasn’t a great game, i know…).
But one thing i think that they did right, was when the changed their storages.

It wasn’t in the same way as in diablo where you most likely have several characters each with different gear and builds that you want to try out.
But they were locked to the city they where in.

As it quickly became a problem that you had to travel all around the world to collect and look for your belongings, they came up with a sollution.

And i think it should fit right in here aswell.

The sollution would be that each character has their own storage.
That each character (ofcourse locked to seasonal, hardcore, eternal and so on) would be able to access all storages, simply by having the ability to be able to switch to/open up each characters storage on which ever character you are playing on at the moment.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

i have more than enough stash space. are you hoarding junk?

Im never against more stash space because i horde mythic uniques. My stash was full earlier today once I cleaned it up removed 3 stash tabs of horded items not needed.

It wont matter how much stash space there is because horders gonna horde.

Well, when you have 4 characters it’s easy!

I was going to tell op to expect these comments and I see it’s right at the top.

Haha, for some… yeah it might not matter…

But for the most of us it will be enough!

The stash space isn’t enough for a lot of players. There will be the “don’t hoard bro” posters but I don’t hoard and I’m running low. Summoning mats, gear I’m trading, gear I’m saving for new builds and testing, across 3 toons. I have enough for now in s5 but it’s getting a bit tight.

i have 7 seasonal right now

Exactly the same reasons for me!

i have to agree. Theyve added so many summoning mats it’s past time for another tab. Generally i thought 1 tab for each class and a stuff drawer was enough and it was for a while. After last season I really felt the pinch, it’s time for another tab.

I don’t think it would be so much of a problem if they didn’t maniacally insist that I pick up absolutely every legendary that drops and if I didn’t, they send it to my stash! Now, if they’d do that for oh…glyphs I missed or cosmetics I might have missed, that would be great. I’ve gotten to the point I only keep 2/3ga for alts and either smash or sell everything else. It was great when they gave us a pet to pick up all our missed stuff until they decided that the aforementioned pet will only pick up certain items. Might as well just said they’re giving us a cosmetic pet to follow us around and bark occasionally.

Even if he is that does not matter, as a paying customer he can ask for more and if by some miracle we get more stash you don’t have to use up all the stash if you don’t want to.

Yeah, it’s called Hoarding. it’s a disease. You literally have no excuse for that, now more than ever. Aspects no longer take up any space, there’s only 1-2 viable builds per class and the only thing you’d need to hold onto is any potential GA’s to temper.

One tab for summoning mats (and even those have been reduced), and you’d barely need more than 1 tab for all classes for the above.

There’s some truth to it.
But also at the same time there isn’t much space left when you want to sell things (almost always through 3rd party), have one of each class with different build and trying out new ones that always appear later in the season.
I don’t see how it would be a bad thing to have more storage and at the same time also please like 50% of the player-base by doing so.

did i say he couldnt ask for more? no i asked if he was hoarding junk. you got awfully defensive for a question not even directed at you. he implies this is a problem plaguing the masses. it isnt. it is a problem plaguing the few that dont know what to keep and what to salvage.

A loot filter is needed. Otherwise the inventory will be full all the time.

If you like to play/try multiple builds and multiple characters then IMO there’s really not enough space anymore. Especially since so many uniques are needed now.

its a non issue if you don’t save everything

stash space isn’t needed right now because there’s no reason to play more than 1-2 characters/builds on the season lol. but when we have armory and people are swapping setups constantly for citadel, gauntlet, pits, etc and they want to keep a lot +ranks or decent GA items in case they want to start something new, then it will be an issue.

beyond all that the biggest issue will be if trading actually becomes a practical and realistic aspect of the game. even if we’re talking specifically about GA items and +rank amulets, there’s so much stuff that’s technically sellable and even if u get 10m, 20m for some item that you’d otherwise sell to a vendor, it’s worth it to trade, especially if theres a system like poe.trade or auction house.

you can get full GA equips with all your mythic uniques in 2 days of season start. the game is pretty much completely playable as SSF and without any real concern for gold at all (unless you decide to dump on the enchanter).

there’s no way im taking the time to list items on diablo.trade one at a time and go through this garbage convoluted system that less than half the playerbase actually uses so i just vendor tons of what would otherwise be great items because i know ill never use nor trade them.

character slots will also be an issue along with storage if the game is successful and worth investing more than 2-3 days of gameplay into it. there should be separate character sheets/slots for eternal and seasonal. in d3 i didn’t even use armory because i’d just level up another character for whatever build i wanted to set up.

Sell me stash tabs like in PoE. If I am paying for skins, which I did, I am more than ready to pay for stash tabs.

Now if they are gonna make it free, I’ll take it too.

I am running out of space too with 7 chars and planning another one. Sometimes it’s easier to just stash everything than sort out and compare each item and see which one looks best.

If we have armory, it will probably alleviate some of these.
