Stop whining and quit

Not sure why you guys repeatedly engage on these forums. Blizzard uses this as positive metrics for their shareholders. The only thing they care about is play time aka: engagement.

If you want to prove a point, quit the game. Its really that easy. Not like anybody at the company cares about your opinions on the game anyways. I recommend Last Epoch. It’s everything you’d want diablo 4 to be.

Likewise, they probably show their shareholders how active these forums are and celebrate the success of the game.

After all, no one would be stupid enough to spend hours on a forum for a game they hate.

That is literally what they do. Its like nobody reads the shareholder reports. There is 24 hours in a day. Hours spent on this forum are tracked that is why you MUST log in to do anything on the WoW or diablo forums.

Didn’t you already post this yesterday?

Nooooooooooooooooooo

Word limit.

If one is on the forums then, generally, one is not engaging in the game itself.

Therefore, one would gets its metaphorical cake and eating it to by not providing positive engagement numbers in game AND complaining loudly on the forums to incite a change in the direction of development.

Win-win really.

Most already have, then you get threads like these posted 5 times a day basically begging for a response from the “quitters” then some one will post a “white knights need to stop defending this game” and the cycle is complete.

It’s in the shareholder report sweetie. Its literally engagement. There are 24 hours in a day. They are showing you engaging with their product because time spent here is time not spent elsewhere.

“our metacritic score is down to 2.2 BUT people are highly active on our official diablo 4 board! We are on the right track. Promise.”

While I like the sarcasm no one takes metacritic seriously, not even metacritic itself. Game companies could care less about some arbitrary number on a website. They’re only looking at their own data numbers.

Its an indication on how well a game is received. Since i as customer do not have access to blizzards data, i orient myself on metacritic. So i am at least one person taking it seriously. Generally good games have good scores and bad games have bad scores. Occasionaly i disagree with the rating, but that is individual preference. Still helps to navigate the swamp of mediocre releases.

Back at ya !

Hey I recommend Last Epoch too. Kinda different from d4 but pretty fun. Cheers

I’m just going to throw in a little perspective here.

Diablo 4 has sold roughly 10 million copies of the game, give or take. That’s potentially 10 million separate players.

Metacritic has anywhere from 5-10 of their own staff who weigh in on Diablo 4, and roughly 3,000+ users who have voiced their opinion on the website itself.

That’s .03% of the player base. I’m not saying the game isn’t in dire need of changes, I’m just saying metacritic should be taken with a huge pitcher of salt followed by a keg worth of margarita mix.

No sht sherlock. Not everyone who bought the game voted? Shocker I tell you.
What also was surprising is that for a weekly political census not everyone in a land votes but a small part of the population.

Also I exactly said that it’s to be taken with a grain of salt. I said it’s to be taken as orientation and that my views did differ in the past. Nonetheless this job is done by the site and simply dismissing or denying the scores is stupid.

I’d trust my own personal experience and judgement over a website that is known for review bombing, but hey you do you brother, wish you nothing but the best in your endeavors to find decent games through reviews on metacritic.

So you buy every game? Huh. No, i like my money.

Never said that, I just don’t visit metacritic is all. Plenty of other sources to see what the game is like. You ever just watch a gameplay video without the sound on so you don’t hear the annoying commentary? Or wait just a couple of weeks after a game comes out to see any potential bugs or problems that pop up?

I do my research, I make my own decisions based on facts about the game, not how some random people feel about it on the internet. It’s the same concept of listening to a celebrity talk about any product, or politics, or whatever. Same goes with content creators, I don’t care what they think about the game just give me the facts without all the annoying commentary.
