It’s realy terrible when you spend 1B to the occuliste to have the right affix, and when you do sanctification, it juste “repalce” the affixe …
Imagine buying a 50B amulet and then having this happen. Hey your perfect 2 GA passive amulet now gets to lose that GA righteousness and gain fire damage yay!
Protip, 750 item lvl can be massively better than 800 ilvl
While not entirely untrue, you have to acknowledge the slight power loss between a 750 and 800. But especially if considering passives, that’s a good point
Then dont sanctify if your going to complain when you dont get what you want. You could have left the item “as is” if you were not willing to take a small risk.
And what’s worse is playing an arpg expecting to get everything you want when you want it.
I dint sanctify a 4 passive amulet. This is a made up story of what could happen. I quit days ago.
What’s worse is the sticking of one’s head in the sand and not seeing that change is happening right in front of you.
aRPG’s have changed over time. So have players, and it’s funny over the last 1-2 years the increased call for deterministic outcomes seems to be growing louder. Maybe we don’t see it for another 5-10 years, as change is always slow, but finding the balance is key.
When people feel that items are ruined and time is “wasted” it becomes a much bigger issue. While we can say don’t use the system, or even you knew what to expect, that doesn’t fix the problem. All the mitigation of items, outcomes etc, doesn’t appease the feeling of “waste” when it comes to time.
you can GA the 750 item from tempering….
Yep never sleep kn 750 when it comes with the right affixes
exactly, i found a 3 passive 750 ammy that i added en garde, and ga’d
now its a ga 4 passive ammy
Honestly I think deterministic gameplay is just going to cause more problems then it’s worth.
I mean how do you keep most players on one game? Cause from what i’m seeing this is what some players here who want this type of game. Item drop range only goes so far and we know how trading effect games like these. Do we bring back (semi-)unchecked PVP?
Basically they want a forever game.
And this is why people stop ignoring the noise and push back when someone complains about such a basic system which gives someone an upgrade 95%+ of the time.
Which is why a season only has 30-50 hours now if someone wants to 100% a season right?
If there was truth to this people would spend more time in seasons not less. If you get everything you want a game is dull and lacks a reason to even play it.
Arpgs requires good loot itemization with a loot hunt. D4 lacks both these things.
Definitely a problem with ADHD gamers.
Seriously, we have people who finish the season in 3 days and off to other games. It’s almost like task gaming. Give them a task, with a reward, and all is good. Once done, off to another item.
All I am saying is look at the change in players and what they want. As a dinosaur in gaming, the younger generations are saying the older generations way of doing things isn’t what they want.
Just make the replaced affix a guaranteed GA and is fine
Like, having a Sanctified (special) affix roll as a GA is quite good
No problem; Scroll of Desantification coming next season.
It would be great if we could somehow reroll it. Because ultimately item is bricked. I didn’t brick so many items while tempering. Maybe 1 out of 10. He is 1 out of 10 has something usefull. Not perfect but usefull for damage boost
Agreed. This is an insta-brick mechanic for me. Remove it.
The devs should just revert all this seasons itemization changes back. It’s never going to be enough for some people.
Just hand out blank items that they can manipulate to what they want.
Heaven forbid that a system that offers high reward has high risk. Heaven forbid that you have to hunt loot.
If you can’t follow 5 steps or you end up getting the bad end of the RNG stick… Burn the system!
Everyone knows the risks and price associated with Sanctification but they still take the gamble. Why? Because if you hit the right one… it’s huge.
It’s never been easier to have multiple GA items in this game….
Small risk??? Looking over the possibilities most of these abilities are strictly for 1 type of build. Meaning 3 of them will actually ‘improve’ the gear. Anything else will be either worthless or ruin the gear.
Either way, this is a seasonal mechanic and Blizzard wanted to test it out. I have a feeling they will be doing away with it because there is just no way to balance such a mechanic out. Not without offering a way to reroll them. It’s just to much of a waste gear grinding to brick the gear.
If the option is, ‘well just don’t use it’… so why have it in the game??? lol
The warning is the game difficulty being built around the mechanic and people leaving the game for it. Like it or not, the game needs players and if they leave in mass due to one function, well the business has no option but to adjust. Which they are already looking to do. haha
