Can you stop limits of both resistances and armors? I wish there were no limits of both resistances and armors like healths, resources, and et cetera.
res and armor are % based. so if there was no cap than you could get 100% immunity to all damage. YOu think that’s a reasonable request?
I mean they’re asking for god mode, so it makes sense. Mind you I don’t agree, but some people want to be invincible, play the game for an hour and be done.
I personally wouldn’t be opposed to a soft cap with greatly diminishing rewards after that.
Usually that’s done with an integer value that coverts to percentage, but damage reduction already does it with %, you get less after a certain point. Case in point my constant DR on my necro per my aspect is 38% but my sheet value (which does say it is less effective after a certain point) is 37.5%. (although now that I think about it that specific example may just be due to the aspect rounding and the sheet not doing so - which is sloppy.)
One hundred percent yes, it is reasonable request. Limitations and limits of resistances and armors are unreasonable features and functions one hundred percent. No limitations and no limits of resistances and armors would make the game more joyful, more fantastic, greater, and et cetera. Wanderers could be stronger and more stronger continuously.

No matter how much you have, if you got 3 stacks of debuff, you’re toast.
it really isnt. a cap to armor and resists makes sense. just because you want to stack armor till nothing does dmg to you does not make your thought make sense. in fact this game being online and multiplayer makes your request for godmode invincibility the unreasonable idea
At least, cancel limits and limitations of them. I think it would be more joyful and more realistic.
I have better idea let’s just have it so mobs don’t do any damage at all. Just stand there with their pants down and let us kill them.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the maximums go to ~90% for each so people don’t have to do as much insane life/barrier/fortify and mythic stacking for survival against some of the spikier damage, but they can’t just let you be outright IMMUNE to damage.
So, you want to be immune to all protentional damage? Let us know when that happens.
His request is ridiculous, but I wouldn’t mind a slight adjustment higher for the cap.
If there were no limitations of resistances and armors, items and gears would show us their full abilities, too. Limitations them are nonsense at all.
So, you went from wanting 200 or infinite stash tabs to wanting to be invincible. What next do you want the pet to play the game for you?
In theory removing the caps isn’t a bad idea.
It would just have to be done in a way that getting to 100% is practically impossible, and comes with a major loss in other forms of DR and damage.
If you take WoW as an example, there were defense caps, crit caps, resistance caps etc… but almost all were impossible to hit without massively hindering your build in some way. When they did DR through armor you could basically just scale armor infinitely but the impact was smaller each time (diminishing returns).
In generally, getting 100% resistance to a type of damage should be obtainable, but 100% to multiple should be near impossible, and 100% to all be literally impossible.
This would actually open up diversity. You could run a posion immune build for example for duriel and sirocco caverns etc… but you’d have to swap out to shadow immunity for varshan etc…
It may be that your entire build (incl paragon) has to change to hit those caps.
I do however think that the current state of the game is good outside of a few pitfalls though.
- We can’t accurately tell what our damage reduction is, because we have multiple forms of DR, some that are triggered, and we don’t know in game how to tally them up.
- We don’t have anyway to accurately tell our DPS. It’s trial and error, and when you think something is better, it may actually be worse. Throw in (1) and you can’t really judge it at all.
- You cannot compare non masterworked gear to masterworked gear, so you can’t even tell if something could get you closer to the caps/breakpoints until you masterwork something, which then binds it to you so you can’t sell it if it’s not as good.
VoH is going to change maybe none, some, a lot, or all of this too though.
Those are all for now. If there were those features and functionalities, I think GameDiablo IV would be more joyful.
