Still waiting for that Zoom Out option on PC

It’s almost been a year and still the camera is locked on console level for PC.
Please for the love of Jebus let us zoom out. You have the technology. Lock the zoom distance for PvP and let the rest of us enjoy a not cramped up experience.
Even though I’m on a 21:9 34" it feels like it is too cramped. If the issue is “Oh it might cause lag!” then just let us choose the laggier option and to reduce our graphics settings to cope. Stop restricting us due to console please!

It has been brought up time and time again and it still feels bad!

Its especially jarring whenever you decide to jump into DII or D3 for a couple hours, coming back to d4 is like whoooa.

Sadly there was a bug that kept the zoom out from when you mounted, was random though, no one could figure out how to replicate it. We don’t need World Boss zoom out but something better than what we have now for sure.

What does this have to do with Consoles? LOL

Many Console games have zoom-out and FoV sliders.

Please enlighten me.

It’s a common misconception that console limitations are why certain things are limited in the game, such as the zoom feature. While I don’t hold the same sentiment , I still agree we need a better zoom.

Yeah blaming Console its just wrong it has 0 to do with Consoles lol…
I totally agree we need a option to zoom out, not by far but just a little bit would help indeed

Ironically when I’m playing on Xbox it feels very spacious because I’m playing on a huge 4k TV

Please let us zoom out. It may even help when playing local coop on consoles, since the screen jerks around so much trying to follow my girlfriend’s barbarian that this became the first game that’s made me motion sick after 35 years of gaming.

Just pop up something that says “you may experience unintended bugs or performance drops when playing on a non-default zoom level”.

It may be in this case, though. Console players don’t have a monitor 1-2 feet from their face.

My monitors are a good 5 feet from my face, the area in which we can see around our character doesn’t change because of it though. D3 can be played on consoles and has a further zoom out.

You can keep waiting. It will never happen.

From the Steam hardware survey:
59% use 1080p
19% use 1440p
3.5% use 4k
0.89% use 2560×1080 (21:9 1080p)
2.13% use 3440×1440 (21:9 1440p)
3.54% 5120×2160 (21:9 4k)

So basically,~1:20 gamers use widescreen monitors. They aren’t that common and it’s not about the graphics lag, it’s about the potential advantage you’d have with the extra vision. You’d be able to see things from further away.

The only fair solution they could implement would be to fog of war the edges to hide the fact that the enemies are hidden from you, so that there is vision parity with regular 16:9 players. There are also server implications as well like having to update the “resolution” of the mob AI/netcode from further distances, to accomodate for the extra widescreen visibility and that can exponentiate the server load in some scenarios.

At the end of the day, it’s their game, not yours. At least we aren’t left zoomed in to the levels we are in towns. That would feel like trying to play a shooter with an FOV of 50 lol…

I play console and have been playing on a monitor for as long as i can remember

ive been playing last epoch for the past two weeks.
just jumped into the game to try the gauntlet.

walked around town, convinced myself i must have used the zoom in command on the emote wheel. Nope just regular old zoom level.

once you play another game with better zoom, then come back to D4 you notice how bad it actually is.

If you watch the previous (not most recent) campfire Q&A they said there’s no plans because a lot goes into it but they’ll let us know if anything changes.

The best is when you’re zoomed in when a World Boss spawns, and it doesn’t zoom back out.

id prefer a bigger zoom as well, this close look is kinda nauseating for me

Ask them in the next campfire chat
