Still being chain CC'd to death

I thought was supposed to be fixed.

cc’d to death, total BS.

edited for clarity; Playing twisted blades Rogue. It was a T47 NMD, yes there are frozen enhanced elites, 5 in a pack to exact, Mercys Reach Dungeon. If it wasn’t for the ridiculous amount of CC it would have easily cleared it.

You being frozen? Because that’s how I die to chain CC.

You must have missed the patch notes, lemme summarize them:

“All defenses nerfed to the point where if your character is even in visual range of an enemy, you instantly die.”

Did a frozen enhanced NMD, and yeah… it was still a CC train

Amazing that they would consider this given you have zero resistances, and this wasn’t part of the patch…

Completely out of touch with their player base.

I’ve noticed more frozen packs in dungeons as well now.
The chain CC is still absurd - along with the gimmick things like the lightning bolt that follows you around and you have to continuously backtrack to get in the dome (horrible game design…doesn’t force any skill just annoying like the monsters that drain your primary resource (quill rats for ftw) - does anyone do these dungeons when you see this in the summary? lol

Which CC?

Frozen into feared into walled into frozen into death?
Or frozen into frozen into frozen into death?
Or Nangari stunned into stunned into stunned into stunned into death?
Or …

There are so many ways to get perma cced. Almost as many ways as useles affixes on items.

yeah but they fixed the Grizzly Rage thing so druids with that in their build now can be chain CCed too!

I particularly enjoy the packs of hornets that mean even if you are CCed for 1 second you die.

Of course, you are almost certainly getting CCed for way more than that.

As a Druid I particularly enjoy that they have reduced the anti-CC of the Grizzly Rage that used to somewhat mitigate the CC nightmare.

This game was frustrating for so many reasons from day 1, but I never thought that it was by design and intent. Everything Blizz has done since makes me think this is what they are actually going for.

Everyone should be allowed to join in the fun! It’s called equality!

Simply incredible that you have diminishing returns when chain CCing monsters, yet monsters can chain CC you without losing any effectiveness. Every build is forced to have at least 1 source of unstoppable/escape because of this (Necro only has one option, Sorc is forced to run three bc of glaring class issues), and Blizzard’s solution is to go ”Druid was too good at having fun, so now unstoppable only lasts for 6 seconds, have fun getting chain CC’d to death like every other class!”. Frozen enchanted enemies on a nightmare dungeon is just an instant scrap for that sigil, it’s just never worth it.

Jupp, I think last night was the first time that I actually rage-quitted a video game because it was so tilting.

At the risk of getting pillored, flagged for banning, etc. you can blame other players for this. Please explain.

One, when Asmongold, etc. does something people try to emulate. When they are able to do it, the game is “too easy”. So, Blizzard does stuff to make the game as is (without adding WT5, etc.) more difficult. However, the average player cannot hope to get anywhere near this level. As such, with the changes, WT2 becomes a struggle for some people and WT3 is all but impossible.

Two, take a look at most of the meta builds. How many are nothing but DPS. I had a discussion with some fine folks about paragon boards. Many were trying for 7 or 8 boards because that maximized the use of offensive glyphs. This is fine but defensive capability went down after 4 or 5 boards. So, that 5% suddenly becomes important. Similarly, how many meta build have Grandfather, etc. in them. Since these are all but impossible to find, people can’t replicate the DPS. Without these items, WT3 and 4 become impossible because you have one hit to stop the chain CC and you just can’t do that. Further, the builds do not state which legendary or aspect is next in line. So, you have little to no clue what to look for in order to get even close to enough protection or offense for the build.

No pillory. You have a good point.

Blizzard need to not balance/tweak for the uber-builds. The vast majority of players will not ever have the skill and/or collect the gear needed, so nerfs that attempt to bring down the uber-players will probably just frustrate the other 99.99% of players.

If people that play hundreds of hours and have thousands of hours practice in similar games are somehow ‘upset’ that D4 is too easy or over too quick… so what?

What are they? 0.01% of the playerbase? Sure they shouldn’t balance for the ultra-casual either - you don’t want to make the game feel too easy for near everyone, but they sure shouldn’t for the ‘elite’ and end up making the game frustrating and painful for near everyone.

In my not-so-humble opinion, Twitch and YouTube should be utterly ignored when it comes to game balance. Certain players will always find a way to exploit a game.

And if players want to ruin their own experience by just copying an uber-exploit-build or whatever then that’s on them too.

  • The Unconstrained Beast (Wrathful, Super-World Tier IV): When you are hit with a Stun, Freeze or Knock Down effect, there is a 40-60% chance to automatically activate Grizzly Rage for 3 seconds.

phew ^^ Is there a cooldown on that one?
And: What do other classes do?

Srsly, maybe I need to become a Curative Elixir junkie?

there’s lists of the hearts on several sites, that one was from icy, WoWhead has them also.

Yeah, I too tried a frozen enchanted NM sigil right after patch… elite quillbeasts still chain freeze you and now they hurt for more due to all stats being nerfed… get your topaz’s on…

I laughed to the point where I lost my vision.
